The Voyage Continues: Shipping Update 3
Ahoy residents of Gloomhaven!
Our high-seas adventures are nearing completion, so I hope you are prepared to finally receive your long-awaited 20-pound box! I mean, it will still probably be another two or three weeks for most of you, but we're close!
There's not too many updates on the shipping that you can't find yourselves by going to that marine traffic website, but I will do my best to give you all the info I have.
China/Hong Kong/Taiwan: Okay, so I expected this to all be done by now, but instead we find ourselves still waiting. Despite me politely urging One Moment to get started on the shipping process many times, they wanted get get something else done before they did anything with Gloomhaven. It was a little frustrating, but that is finished now, so, to the best of my knowledge, they should be picking up the games and shipping them out next week.
Australia/New Zealand: The YM Seattle is scheduled to dock in Sydney on the 15th, and the games should be delivered to Aetherworks by the 17th, so fulfillment on these should be starting next week, as well.
Canada: The YM Milestone is scheduled to dock in Vancouver on the 16th, and it should have been a short trip to the Amazon fulfillment center from there, but we hit a snag and the shipment has been flagged for a random customs screening. I don't know how long this will take, but I will update you in the comments when I know more.
US: The OOCL Luxembourg, AKA "Luxy," is somewhere off the coast of California right now, scheduled to arrive in Long Beach tomorrow (the site says it's still in Alaska, but it hasn't updated the position in a while). I got a little confused about this in the last update, because the info provided by the freight shipper was unclear and I assumed the boat was going to Chicago, but, no, as many of you deduced, the games will travel over land from Long Beach to Chicago, likely by train, and arrive about a week later, probably the 21st or 22nd. Then they take a short truck ride to Joliet, IL, and the fulfillment can begin at Amazon. Hopefully the games will arrive at your doorstep by the end of the month.
EU/Rest of the World: The CSCL Mercury is somewhere around Malaysia right now, headed toward the Suez Canal. It is still expected to get to Hamburg around Feb. 7 and get to Happyshops for fulfillment shortly after.
Onto other news!
As you may expect, address edits are closing soon! I will most likely turn them off tomorrow, so make sure you get to that if you haven't. It's a very simple process. Just follow the steps outlined in this update.
Seriously, make sure your address is up-to-date. It is much easier to fix it now, rather than after the box is delivered to the wrong house.
The only other thing I'd like to point out is that voting is now officially open for the most anticipated game of 2017 on BGG. I know it is just a silly internet poll, but it still fills me with joy that the thing I created could make it to the top.
It is kind of funny because the poll encourages pandering and promotion to win, but I really try to do that as little as possible. Instead, I will just tell you a little bit about what I am working on. Immediately after I received my final production copy, I started creating a sort of mini-expansion for the game (it's much easier to design and play test scenarios when you have the actual components in front of you).
It has taken a while, but the scenarios are almost ready. Whether we win or lose the poll, I plan on releasing them as a PDF on BGG soon after you all receive your games (so around early February). I don't want to tell you too much about them, but I will tell you there are 17 total. That may be a familiar number, and so maybe you can deduce a little more information from that.
So, anyway, I hope you are anticipating receiving your copy, and make sure to vote in all categories you feel Gloomhaven deserves.
Until next time!
