Special Thanks: Post-Kickstarter week 23

Hello all you residents of Gloomhaven!

Here we are! Another week of pre-production on Gloomhaven. It was a productive week, filled mostly with doing a lot of that little stuff I mentioned last week, plus, well, the whole survey thing.

No need to sugar-coat it: the survey was a bit of a debacle. Sorry about that. I feel that we eventually got things clarified, though, and while I regret the confusion it caused, I hope that everyone who interacted with me or had questions about the survey felt like I was able to effectively deal with their problems.

I'm here for all of you, so if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to send me a message.

And I also just want to reiterate that everyone will receive what they paid for. If you made a mistake on your survey, don't worry about it. I'll figure it out. It make take me a little more time than I was planning on, but I'll figure it out. If you paid $84 for a standee version of the game and an extra box of miniatures, you will get both, no matter how you filled out the survey.

They survey is just intended to reduce the work on my end. It's not a binding contract. The money that you sent me is the binding contract.

But, anyway, enough about that. You know what I want to talk about? Mathew Somers and Marcel Cwertetschka. These guys are super stars, and I'm pretty sure that Gloomhaven would not be nearly as awesome without their help.

I've just been thinking about how amazing they are recently because I've been working on finalizing the character ability cards over the last few days, and the amount of time and effort they put into helping with it has been downright humbling.

You should see this document Mathew sent me with the corrections he had across all 500+ ability cards. All of them.

So I just wanted to publicly thank them. You'll also see their bylines on a number of scenarios in the scenario book, and they've both helped significantly in editing the rule book, as well.

They are both truly passionate about this game, and it gives me hope that a lot more people will find a passion for it when it's released.

Yeah, so thanks guys!

All right, it's back to working on those character cards and the scenario book for me. We should have another iteration of the rule book for you next week.

I'll also be attending the GAMA Trade Show next week, though I'm hoping it won't cut in too much on my work time for Gloomhaven. I'll be spending as much time as possible working on the story text for the remainder of the scenarios I haven't gotten to yet.

Until next time! Try to get those surveys in in the next week or two if you haven't!

Yes, yes, allow me to thank you again, Isaac -- It’s true, YOU are a superstar! Haha… I mean, it may sound a little sarcastic, but in all seriousness, your taking a moment out to acknowledge Marcel and myself, only helps solidify this fact in my mind. Honestly, I doubt there are many, if any, among us who would contest your status or feel otherwise, right? After all, you’ve created something truly amazing here, and for my money, it's a given, the passion folks will feel for this game will be palpable and carry on for many years to come. So, congrats! *pats on the back*

I am *pretty sure* you are surpassing Somers/Cwertetschka already. They should be calling YOU a superstar. Don't worry about names.

Hey isaac, thanks for the kudos. I'll try to finish my document of the 500+ cards asap aswell! ;) but work was lately very taxing sadly. Keep your good work up on this awesome project!

Isaac - the pledge manager was rather confusing, but I wouldn't go so far as to call it a debacle. And you were good about explaining things. However, after a few other kickstarters with backers that can't seem to take responsibility when things go wrong, I am delighted to see you standing up and saying "yes, I goofed". Mistakes get made; that's life. Seeing that you are upfront about them and getting them fixed makes me more glad I backed this game.

      Hey Isaac,
I await every Kickstarter Update from you, its a little highlight on my week. and I'm really impressed how good you deal with thinks that don't work the way Intendet. I Think a lot of Kickstarter Projects could be more Open about Problems, and give more regular updates.

Keep on the good work, Im Exited to Play Gloomhaven once it Arrives at my doorstep.
but I Know that Projects often are more work than anticipated and Might take longer than expected. For Me its more Important to get an Good and Finished Product. Than a rush Job.

And every Update shows me more and more that your are Commited to Quality and Opennes.
It Makes me Proud to be a backer of your Project.
