Survey Update

Hey there, so the surveys have gone out and I've apparently confused some of you. Sorry about that.

The formatting and character count of each question is very limited, so I tried to do what I could, but I feel like some of these questions require a little more explanation.

"Would you like to increase your pledge above $X to receive additional rewards? (If no, feel free to fill in the remainder of the questions "NA.")"

This question is asking if you have pledged or will be pledging additional money above your reward level to receive additional content. The rest of the questions are just to help you double-check that you've pledged the proper amount for what you are getting, and if you haven't, to help you figure out how much you should send. So if you've already pledged during the Kickstarter for everything you want, then you should be good.

Also, I am horribly sorry that I copy and pasted $64 into the $79 pledge survey. If you're a $79 pledge, that should read "above $79."

"How many mini boxes/standee versions/mini versions of the game would you like to order?"

With these questions, just tell me what you want to receive. I can't do the math on all your orders, so tell me explicitly how many of each box you want to get sent to you, including what you've already pledged for plus any additional stuff you'll be send money for now.

"What is your country code? (Shipping for each set of 1-5 game boxes is: free for US, Canada and China; $10 for Western Europe, Southeast Asia and Australia; $20 for Eastern Europe; and $50 for everywhere else.)"

Here I am asking you to make sure you are paying the correct amount for shipping. Since we can already factor this in automatically through Kickstarter, this will only cause you an increased cost if you are asking for more than 5 boxes of games. If you are ordering 6-10 game boxes, you'll need to double the shipping cost you already paid. For 11-15 boxes, triple it, etc. Again, sorry this is confusing, but you'll only need to worry about this if you are ordering more than 5 games. Otherwise it is already factored in.

"How much money did you send to cephalofair@gmail.com through Paypal (with "GLOOMHAVEN ADD-ONS" in the special instructions)? Your answer should be the total of the previous four questions, minus what you've already pledged."

Again, here I am just asking you to double-check your math. If you want a standee copy ($64), a box of minis ($20) and you live in Germany ($10), just make sure that you pledged $94. If you accidentally only pledged $84, you'll need to send $10 through Paypal.

One important thing I forgot to mention, though: Please include your Kickstarter name in the special instructions as well when sending money through Paypal. That will speed up my bookkeeping significantly.

I hope this update clears up any issues you are having. I'm sure there are still questions, though, so please ask them in the comments, and I will help you as best as I can.

Again, sorry for any confusion.

I don't even see a survey? Where do I find it?

Alright, Isaac, you've been staying up too late working on this exciting game. Time for a good night sleep after which your surveys will be as clear as mountain water sake. ;)

    5. Isaac Childres 4-time creator on

David and Willem, both your surveys look fine. There's no way you would pledge for a game and get nothing in return. You are DEFINITELY getting what you paid for.

    6. Dan Martin on

I definitely messed mine up. I assumed the amounts were for adding copies :(

I answered 'do you want to increase' as yes because I wanted to be able to write 1 in the 'mini game' question because my pledge level is the game with minis, and then I wrote 0 as the amount to increase by.

Last time a survey asked if I wanted additional stuff beyond my pledge I said no because I the pledge included the extras but then I didn't receive the extras which had to be fixed afterwards. So if a survey is confusing I go for the option with the extras to be on the 'safe side'.

I misunderstood the question about how many mini versions ($79) I want (I filled in N/A as the survey seemed to indicate to do if I didn't add anything beyond my pledge). I've been trying to update my survey response, but it's still saying N/A.

    10. Isaac Childres 4-time creator on

Justin, address changes are allowed up until the game ships. You can go back into your survey and change it anytime until then.

      Graham, your survey looks fine.

Buddy, yours does too. Sorry about the confusion with $64 versus $79 - totally my mistake.

Max and John, yours are fine too!

The in built Kickstarter survey is woefully inadequate for anything other than collecting addresses! Creators should bully them into changing it. But they (KS) probably get kick-back from Crowd Ox and the like.

ugh, I put in comments that I just want the $79 pledge and nothing else. Hope I did the rest right/

ugh--this is why I need to remind myself not to fill out the surveys for a week. I think mine is incorrectly filled out because I had pledged for the $79.00, but was confused by the $64.00 and then answered 1 for the $79.00 later on. I hope I didn't set myself up to be charged extra somehow.

I pledged 84 for for 64 game and minis. Not sure how I should answer "Would you like to increase your pledge above $64 to receive additional rewards? (If no, feel free to fill in the remainder of the questions "NA.")". Currently I put yes. Also wondering about country code.

      @ionas:
you missed D (licence plate) and instead +49 you can write 0049. Sure, there are many other options. Really confusing what the creator meant.

    20. ionas on

E.g a list of country codes supplied as a http link would be good

    21. ionas on

What country codes e.g. for Germany: DE, DEU, GER, DE_de, +49?

    22. Isaac Childres 4-time creator on

If you are only ordering the base pledge, then answering NA for the rest of the questions is totally fine. You didn't mess anything up.

    23. Todd Snyder
      Superbacker
      on

yes, that was quite confusing. I didn't add any funds and didn't plan on adding, so "Would you like to increase your pledge above $X to receive additional rewards? (If no, feel free to fill in the remainder of the questions "NA.")" - would imply to me to fill out the rest NA. But then "How many mini boxes/standee versions/mini versions of the game would you like to order?"

With these questions, just tell me what you want to receive. I can't do the math on all your orders, so tell me explicitly how many of each box you want to get sent to you, including what you've already pledged for plus any additional stuff you'll be send money for now. ...

would imply to fill these out with what I pledged. I went back and edited my NA answer here that I needed to. I know it's too late, but before you send out the Survey - you could have posted here and asked for feedback - backers are always happy to give feedback on things that are not 100% clear (:

Thanks for the instructions. :-) Hope I didn't mess anything up. Having pledged just for one copy with minis and not adding anything now, I just answered 1 on the "copy with minis" part and nada on everything else.

It might just be me, but I am really confused and don't know what to put in the survey...

    26. BlackReign12(@Wal2WalCarnage) on

I too didn't add the Kickstarter Name... dang it

    27. BlackReign12(@Wal2WalCarnage) on

@Isaac/Creator: Shoot... I messed up the "Adding additional funds" questions... as I thought I needed to put yes as I had added funds for the box of minis ($20) as I was getting both standees pledge ($64) AND the box of minis ($20). I tried to change my survey but it is locked... suggestions?!

I must say that the Survey was terribly confusing on what was being asked. Sadly, it was as clear as mud.

That country code question is still a bit unclear. There's several different code sets used in different contexts. I just typed the whole country name there, hopefully that doesn't screw up your bookkeeping. (Also, I pledged for just one copy of the game, so I guess I wouldn't even had to answer that with anything.)

      - I pledged $89 for a copy of the game with miniatures and I live in Germany ... so I should be good.

How are you shipping? Do you need a PO box, or a physical address?
      Thanks

    33. Rob Meyers on

In case there was any confusion on my survey response (I filled it out before this update):
      - I wanted 1 copy of the game without miniature (regular pieces)
      - I pledged +$20 to add the miniatures to this set (total $84)
      - My address is in the US, so I believe I'm not charged more for shipping.
