Your first official weekly update

Hey there residents of Gloomhaven!

I hope your first full week without the excitement of the Gloomhaven Kickstarter went well. Mine was going great until I accidentally ingested a bunch of gelatin this morning.

I can conquer an entire pie, but a single gelatin tablet brought me to defeat.

But you don't want to hear about that. You want to hear that the Mindthief's starting hand of cards is now available to play on Tabletop Zen. Yay!

Not only that, but I whipped up a print-and-play file for the Cragheart and Mindthief starting cards and character mats as well.

Keep in mind that these cards are not 100% set in stone yet. There will be much more testing done over the next few months, and also Josh will be refining the layout for some of the more complex cards like summons and augments.

And in that regard, I'd be happy to hear any comments from you about how these two character classes play - whether they are over-powered or boring or confusing or perfectly awesome. Just send me a Kickstarter message if you have any thoughts.

Over the next week, I'll work on designing the more advanced cards for the Cragheart and Mindthief, as well as their character sheets and perk lists so that I can include them in the advanced scenario, as well. I'll also be updating the battle goal deck with all 24 cards and then working on developing all the career goals, as well.

And after that, I'll be working refining the advanced character classes in the box, which will probably be less exciting for you since I can't talk about them.

Josh is working on the world map and accompanying stickers. We're including an zoomed-in inset of the town in the upper right corner of the map, and it's looking pretty sweet. We should have a completed version of that next week.

Alexandr just sent me a totally amazing piece of art for one of the bosses. It's gorgeous, but I guess you'll just have to take my word for it. He's almost done with the art for the monsters (not including the ones added through stretch goals), so he should be moving on to item art soon.

And James sent me the corrections for the one advanced class that we still didn't have pictures of, so we'll get those up on the spoilers page soon. He also sent me some corrections on another one of the figures that looked a little weird in the pictures, so I'll get that updated too in the raw images spoiler page. James still needs to work on the sculpts for the Cragheart and Mindthief, but there's not much of a rush on that, so he'll probably get to them later this month/early next month.

All right, does that sound like a good plan? I think it's a good plan. See you in a week!

      Thank you for the update and the explanations about the creation process! It is remarkable to say the least that you are still updating the PnP files and TabletopZen.

      Maybe you could post the artwork of the boss in a later update? You could link it to a spoiler page as usual for anyone who would like to see it. Some artwork teasers in general spread over the updates in the next months would be great. I like to get teased :D

      @Isaac - How did gelatin topple thee? Because of the non-vegan thing or something more specific? We need details man!

      Thank you so much for the PnP! Mindthief looks so intriguing and Cragheart's ability to make an obstacle looks fun. Will be happy to try them out :)

      Might help to have visual examples of how the more complex cards are executed, even if it's just in an online FAQ.

      Sounds like a very good plan. New classes look really cool, althou I have some small concerns about the cragheads rather risky nature as a starting class with chaotic battle situations.
