Halfway down the road
Hey there residents of Gloomhaven!
We have arrived at the momentous halfway point of the campaign. Two weeks down and two more weeks to go!
The fact that almost $200,000 has already been pledged to the campaign never ceases to amaze me. 2500 of you have come together to participate in this project with me, and, well, I am just forever grateful. I will do my best to live up to Rahdo's high praise and give you all the best co-op dungeon crawler on the market.
You've gone in with me on this game that has no real add-ons and no real exclusives (aside from the sweet decoder ring*), and the best is what you deserve.
(*Not actually a ring.)
There's not really a whole lot more say today. We're about halfway toward unlocking a new character class, and I can tell you, judging from some of the Board Game Geek threads, a lot of you will be happy with it.
Even after it's unlocked I won't be able to tell you much about it in the updates because it's going behind the spoiler curtain, but I will tell you this: the character has two separate miniatures.
Gloomhaven has been featured on a number of different podcasts recently, and I just thought I'd bring them to your attention if you're into that sort of thing and haven't listened to them yet.
The two biggest appearances were on Brawling Brothers and Blue Peg Pink Peg. I talked to both of these podcasts for about an hour each, going over various aspects of Gloomhaven and also just interesting personal stuff (maybe it's interesting?). I consider the guys from both podcasts - Brandon and Josh from Brawling Brothers and Patrick and Robb from Blue Peg Pink Peg - to be good friends, and I had a blast hanging out with them.
I was also honored to be mentioned in the news segment of the latest Secret Cabal episode that dropped today. They are all good guys as well.
I'd also recommend checking out the Board With Life D&D podcast, which is ridiculous and juvenile and awesome. I went in on a little advertising from them for all their episodes during September, and, seriously, these guys do the best ads in the podcast business. They are usually as entertaining, if not more so, than the episode itself, so you should go listen to those, too. I couldn't be happier with how they turned out.
Also, those four podcasts I mentioned are my four absolute favorite gaming podcasts, so just go listen to them anyway, even if they aren't talking about Gloomhaven.
Oh! And also I'll be talking to my friend Paul Grogan from Gaming Rules tomorrow. He is soliciting questions to ask me on his BGG forum, and seeing as how the conversation hasn't happened yet, I imagine it's not to late to head over there and submit some.
All right, I guess that's about it. We've maintained the number 7 spot on BGG, so keep up the good work!
