My vote for the timeline: If it can start at any point between now and the beginning of October, that works best before the winter break. If it can't start then, I'd prefer it to start next January. Basically, I'll be off and traveling for a good portion of December, so I'd miss out on at least two weeks if it ran some time during that period.

    3. Philomorph on

Time-wise, November or January would probably be easiest for me to participate in real time. But I'm not too worried about it. I don't always have time to play the every week regardless. But it's fun when I can so I get to vote :)

New expedition: not before end-November for me. Thanks for doing these -- your devotion is most venerable. :)

@RobGThai & @Richard Canchola: The links does go to the correct campaign. The problem is that those links doesn't work in the mobile apps (at least not the one for Android). Just search for "gloomhaven" in the app, and you'll find it.

    6. Ian Cross on

I'm also going to say that if we can sneak it in right at the end of September so that it would be finished before December holiday, that would be awesome, but if not, then January seems perfect.

Trying to keep the campaign going through the holiday just seems troublesome for everybody.

Thank you so much for your community involvement on this, Isaac!

    7. Adrian S on

Personally, I'd rather have a new scenario once a month than once a week. Last time around I wanted to join the campaign, but realised there was no way I was going to manage playing a scenario in the few days between its release and the voting deadline 10 weeks in a row…

    8. Constantine Christodoulou on

I am fine with anything after the first week of October. Thank you for taking the time to add even more fun to the game. Much appreciated!

    9. Jalal Soltani on

Post four new campaigns once a month staggered for each week. So the monthly players can choose one, the biweekly players choose two, etc.

How about a mini campaign that leads up to the release of Forgotten Circles, with the last scenario coming out around the time of Forgotten Circles's release?

Same feelings to having a scenario each and every week - a little bit to often maybe, what about every two weeks? - and towards the holiday season thing - but maybe with a new scenario every two weeks, the holidays would not be that much of a problem?

    12. Stephen Williams on

Regardless of when it happens, please include a single all-in-one document of all scenarios and events once it has concluded. my group doesn't meet frequently enough to play them "live", so I save them for the future, and the previous ones have been somewhat toilsome to track down all the pieces for.

I'll second the request for a consolidated PDF of Capital Intrigue. I'm sure I won't keep up with weekly, so won't weigh in on a new start date. We're actually playing through Into the Unknown right now (better late than never), so a similar consolidated PDF for Capital Intrigue would be fantastic. I've seen the one on BGG, but it would be nice to have the City Events/Results in a nicer format.

I like some of the suggestions below: for me, the holidays start to get way too hectic, and I think launching in january would get our new expansion hero immediately on the board...yay!

And yes, consider the "once every two weeks or so" format... we never seem to be able to keep up with the hard core groups and we fall behind in actively voting, etc. Thanks!

    15. warwing on

I'd vote for early next year

I would like something slightly less frequent than weekly. Monthly seems too long though. Perhaps every two weeks or maybe three in a row, then a week off, rinse and repeat. It's just hard to get 4 adults together 10 weeks in a row. If you did it this way, everyone would have three weeks to get two scenarios in. Just a thought...

      Love the game though!!!

    17. chang on

@issac @jalal but how would isaac release the rumors in between scenarios? as much as i like this approach, no sure how it would be accomplished.
Is too hard to play every week. Is just me and my boyfriend, and we cant play weekly.

I wont request a time either; as much as i absolutly love this game. i know i ll be behind right away.

      thanks.

    18. Anthony DMello on

My vote is for mid January at the earliest. My gaming group tends to hibernate around Thanksgiving into the New Year.

I backed the player mats about a week ago and then backed out after discovering that they only provide enough space for about half of each player's game pieces.

If it were designed large enough to accommodate everything that players need to keep track of then I'd be all over it.

As is, it just isn't worth it for having half of your stuff on the mat and half off of it.

    23. Eric D. on

Also would like a PDF of the extra little campaign, as someone who cant play atm this would really help me track stuff.

As for the playmat, it's really disapointing nothing could be found for the shipping to EU, making this sadly way too expensive for your EU backers.

The beginning of January through to mid March sounds amazing.

The reason I am not buying the mats is, I am a solo player and only need one mat. No option for just one mat.

For the campaign: I would prefer to do it in the Fall, as long as it can end before the holidays. Oct 1 to Nov 15 range would be perfect!

Also, for those who are asking for a consolidated PDF of the Capital Intrigue campaign: See here: https://boardgamegeek.com/article/29635362#29635362

    27. Chris Rivers on

Is there a reason the mat doesn't use the hp/xp tracker that came with the game? I've always felt like that was one of the highest quality components in the box and reducing it to colored cubes on a horizontal track seems like a significant downgrade (not to mention how much easier it is to accidentally bump/shift cubes compared to those sweet buttery dials).

    28. Stefan Georgescu on

Anytime starting November would be great for the new expedition!

    29. MacenKrace on

I vote for November to star the campaign. Probably the best period, after Essen spiel 2018.

So, I don't really care WHEN we do it. BUT, it'd be awesome if we could slow it down a bit. How about once every 2 weeks, rather than once every week?

I have two other campaigns going on with two different parties. Adding in a weekly community expedition to that is a bit overwhelming (it was a bit much to find the free time for, last time around).

Don't get me wrong. I liked the first two expeditions very much. I just don't think it necessarily needs to be a once-per-week thing, and think it would still do fine as a twice-a-month thing. Plus, this would add more time for voting in the polls. AND it would add more time for you to create and playtest, so you wouldn't be rushed to crank anything out. Much more lenient schedule all around.

Just a thought. I'm probably super in the minority in this opinion. But just wanted to throw it out there.

Thanks for all your hard work. Loving this game. Most fun I've had with a tabletop game, by far. Thanks from all of my family and friends as well (my two parties).

    31. Brian Ivanson on

I vote for mid January to get through the holidays, then release every 2 weeks.

Every week is way too hard to get the group together that many in a row. We tried last time, but got behind quickly after the first two, then dropped off completely since we felt disconnected from it as voting wasn’t an option anymore.

Thanks for making such a fun game! Boiler up!

    32. JaeRod on

I vote for next year. Some say Mid - January and I agree. Thank you for a great and beautiful game and I look forward to "Return to Dark Tower" in 2020.

    33. Jason Kowaluk on

I think starting in early to mid-January and running a new scenario every 2 weeks would work best.

    34. Damon Steff on

Just because a few people are suggesting otherwise, I guess it’s worth chipping in to say I’d definitely want it to stay weekly. We found Into the Unknown a bit of a mad rush to keep up with, but the pacing of Capitol Intrigue was perfect.

Anytime works for the running of the campaign. I think more puzzles and options other than just killing all the enemies is always fun.

I'd also prefer to keep the weekly updates if possible. Every two weeks would just run way too long. (Five months!)

Halfway done with our campaign and will definitely do the other KS campaigns too, so I'm in no hurry to get the latest scenarios. :-)

I'm also eager to get Forgotten Circles! :D

    41. Ferg on

Somewhere from November until the beginning of January would be great for me!

    42. Luke Coughlan on

Won't be backing anything associated with you until I get a replacement for my missing figure from the original Gloomhaven. Filled in Google forms, sent emails and still nothing after months and months. Great game, but extremely poor follow up service. Got my money and don't care about me anymore

    43. Lajs-Rasmussen on

I am hopelessly behind with the scenarios, we just finish the Kickstarter “into the unknown” and will not start on “Capital Intrigue” before the winter kick in. So I dont mind if going to be daily, weekly or monthly for next 10. But I would love if there was a download able “booklet” I could print the follow the choice of the community rather than downloading each city event and scenario in the correct order.
But for scenarios type, something with Puzzles you need to solve, stop the horde at a pass e.g. 300 style, run for your life, or a 9 level dungeon, in first one your are level 1 and level 9 in last. Making XP gain into gold to equip yourself better as you progress to “Kill Diablo”

    44. Scott Gary Veenvliet on

Weekly, starting end of September please.

    45. Steve Huszar on

If the new online content isn't coming out before forgotten circles, I'd say wait until January to bring out the new online series. We will have plenty of content on our hands with forgotten circles.

Will I be able to jump in to participating? I haven't played near enough of the core game much less the Kickstarter Community Driven ones.... I'm really hoping to be able to actually participate in this one, but if it would spoil too much then I suppose I'd have to forego voting on this one as well...

As far as time frame.. I would love beginning in November.

      Regarding the next campain;
I don't know about everyone else, but my schedule changes a lot during the holidays (say half a week before christmas until one week after new years eve). This means that I can either play a LOT with some people only during this period, or I will probably not be able to play at all with the group I've played with before this period. This being said, I think people like me would either like to finish the campaign before the holidays, or finish it in the 1st week of the New Year.

If you play with your regular group before the holidays and then take a break, you have been able to participate in the campaign every week except the last two weeks, when you are busy with the holidays.
If you play with your "Holiday Group" you can catch up during the first week and then finish with everyone else during the last week, and not worry that there is one or two scenarios left when you split-up and go back to your regular lives with your regular friends.

This means that as long as we start before the end of October, I will be super-happy. But since I will be super-happy no matter when the campaign starts, I wouldn't mind much if it starts at any other time as well.

The last mini campaign was great. Very much enjoyed the different mechanisms and the weekly updates.
I would prefer the next one to start end of September/early October so that we could finish it 1-2 weeks ahead of Christmas holidays.
