In 2015, Retroplayer.nl launched a project for an online world championship for NES gamers all over the world. A special created competition cartridge was available for backers who want to compete in this championship. The trophy was made by an artist. The project was succesfully funded and Robin Mihara won the event. Have a look at Robins score of 3.1 million here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JggZMUCmVfU. Now the online world championship is back.Once it is succesfully funded, competitors will receive all necessary information. Guidelines to win:
- Collect 50 bombs in 'Dutch the Bomb collecter,'
- Finish the lap of 'Dutch the F1 racer,' and
- Play Dr. Dutch' for the remainder of the time.
The cartridges are NTSC compatible. They will play on a PAL NES, but will have some glitches. They are also succesfully tested on the Retron 5.

Risks and challenges
The costs to produce a new championship cartridge for the NES isn't cheap. €3000 is the minimum we need to produce this game and championship.
Our cost include: carts (using new NES molds and not recycled NES carts), labels, PCB boards (new boards), programming and developing, checking and adding scores.
All the parts for the competition cartridge are professionally made and will be ordered from the United States and Canada. Shipping these items could result in some delay. In that case, we will keep you updated.
Our goal is to produce this game no matter what. But with your contribution through Kickstarter, it will be launched sooner. If you support us, there are some very cool exclusive rewards available.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
