Please note. Any tier labeled Xbox One will be an "all Console" tier...so even though it reads Xbox One, once the KS has finished you will be able to specify whether it is an Xbox One,PS4, Vita or WiiU (if announced on Wednesday) copy you would like.

Players control Bathoryn, a hero in a Gothic world, seeking to liberate seven great towers.
Bathoryn must battle his way through a doomed land packed with gruesome pixel art foes before ascending (or sometimes descending) each tower, defeating puzzles, traps and monsters alike. At the heart of each keep, he must confront a mighty overlord. Defeat it and Bathoryn’s quest continues. Fail, and you’ll die gruesomely - mauled by werewolves, disintegrated by floating monstrosities, squashed by great weights or torn apart by hidden blades. And you will fail...
The Blood Tower was one of the first to fall. Dark knights and other blood hungry monsters roam the sanguine ruins of this once-noble keep.
The Wolfwoods. Where the ancient Great Wolves of old are said to be buried. But how quietly do their corpses lie?
The Old Town Sewers. Constructed on a palatial scale and filled with man's detritus, these tunnels now hold much more than was planned...
The game is split up into seven areas, each of which has two distinct and very different sections. The first (horizontal) section is your progression towards the tower and has larger focus on your combat skills, with many interesting and satisfying ways to die... If you complete this part and defeat that section's mini-boss, then you can begin to ascend the Tower. These Towers have a larger emphasis on platforming and timing with puzzles and a whole range of wonderfully creative (and deadly) traps. If you reach the the top of tower, your reward is to meet the area's overlord....
Reminiscent of classics like Altered Beast, Shadow of The Beast, and Ghosts 'n Goblins, the difficulty of the combat and platforming can best be described as... brutal. Save points help but they're rare. So it's down to you and your ability with a sword.
There are 5 different attacks available, all with varying degrees of power and each with its own specific use.
- The basic combo with Decap finishing strike - just for you button-bashers out there. Decap does little to no damage unless it's used on final blow. Finishing with a decap will add mana points.
Slain! will also feature a mana system adding a light strategic element to this hack and slash fest! Mana is charged by successfully decapitating foes (as mentioned) or collecting vials. The blocking feature will also play an important role in your decisions of how to approach certain combat situations.
Below are the mana abilities:
- Fireball - this uses mana to kill foes at range.
- Bombs - the game will feature a number of different types. Shown here is the smart bomb.

Andrew is the metal head responsible for all that delightfully dark and Gothic artwork you see. A 'veteran' in the industry with over 25 years experience as an artist, Andrew has worked at Naughty Dog, Imagitek Designs, Gametek, Cyclone Studios, 3DO, Ritual Entertainment, Frozen Codebase, and a few more he is too cool to remember. He is also a very naughty boy.
Raised by islanders on a volcano in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, Asa has been programming games since he's been able to play them. He's been doing it professionally for 8 years now, and has worked at Saffire, Sensory Sweep, Frozen Codebase and Rockstar Games. He was most recently credited for his work as a Scripter on Grand Theft Auto V, but Asa left his team at Rockstar Games last year to pursue the glamorous career of being a full-time independent developer.
Nick Alfieri comes from Digerati Distribution and has somehow wormed his way in to the WBG team. He makes great curry, is a Muay Thai fanatic and does vidya gamey stuff from time to time. More importantly, he is English and his teeth aren't terrible. Digerati focuses on raising awareness and digital curation of high-quality indie titles and has recently released Letter Quest: Grimm's Journey, Joylancer, and The Sun and Moon. Nick's job is to do all the business/publisher type things and write stuff like this.
Çağlar Şahin is composing the music for Slain. When he saw a few scenes from the early version, he got excited and came up with some ideas about the music and sent them to Andrew, whom he totally did not know. Turns out Andrew accepted. Sam Henry is a character concept artist and illustrator who has returned from 200 years of training under the worlds greatest dragon masters. Working as a character concept artist in AAA games as well as mobile gaming, Sam has finally drawn his golden axe and gauntlets from under his bed and joined the warrior ranks of Wolf Brew Games

Feedback is key to making this game the best it can possibly be and we feel feedback from an active and engaged Kickstarter community is the best there is. We also would also like to assess the interest in following the PC version up with a PS4/Vita version. Slain! on Xbox One is already going to be happening. So let us know if you would like to see this on your PS4 or Vita? We’re also thinking about starting work on Slain! II later this year, and we wanted to see how you guys felt about that possibility.
The Kickstarter funding will cover the team spending the next 3 months finishing the PC version, porting the console versions (if the interest is there) and helping pay for the game's music - which will comprise of orchestra and choir.

Risks and challenges
The risks relating to Slain! are small to non-existent. The project is already eighteen months into development and we estimate there are only three months left... so barring the death of one of the team members (erk!), the project will be shipping on PC in May 2015. Even with the untimely demise of a team member we will still release, hoping for a Tupac & Kurt Cobain-style postmortem sales spikes.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
