I have been working so hard for the better part of the last decade to make the best, most honest and heartfelt work I could muster!
I have shown consistently throughout the United States, mostly the Southeast (my home). People really respond to my paintings and the feedback has been so rewarding. However, in order to advance my career I have been told that I need to show in New York or Paris. Well, my prayers have been answered! I was featured in an internationally renowned blog and it led to an invitation for a solo exhibition in Paris, France! Woo hoo!! Now I just need to get there!
This was a last minute opening and I had to jump on the opportunity, but the trip will not be without substantial cost on my end. This is an up and coming, grassroots type gallery and they cannot offer any assistance in my travel fees, accomodations, OR transportation of my artwork. It is simply a remarkable foot in the door type of opportunity to introduce myself to one of the major art meccas of the world. It will be worth the great effort on my part to produce as many new and exciting works as I can in the next month and a half, and it would be SOOO worth your investment in me to help make it happen financially!
Please and THANKYOU in advance for ANY contribution! If you happen to be able and willing to put forth the amount that results in your choosing a limited edition giclee print of my work, please feel good knowing that the actual value is well above the price you will be paying. And at the same time the price you will be paying is INVALUABLE to this hard working artist to help make her dreams come true! A solo show in Paris!?! Are you kidding me!?! I'm over the moon. Thanks so much for your part!
Risks and challenges
The challenge of this project is simply to raise the funding to buy a $1000-$1500 plane ticket for myself, contribute apprx $600 toward gallery rent, $1500 for 6 weeks of lodging, and the unknown amount it will cost to ship priceless artworks overseas. Once I get myself and my work to the space I am confident that all will go very well indeed! I am planting myself in Paris for the duration of the show so that I can maximize exposure and attendance to the show. One risk will be that nothing sells at all and I am stuck having to get it ALL back to the States with limited moolah. However I believe that the chances of this are slim and that I will certainly sell enough work to comfortably fund the return of the FEW that don't find happy homes there in gay Paris! The inumerable benefits of this introduction into the art world of Paris far exceed ANY risks and challenges. I'm gonna make you proud, supporters!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
