A universe inspired by Ancient India- Raji is inspired by Hindu and Balinese mythology, allowing us to create diverse level locations, demons, bosses and characters. The team wants to tell a story which is set in India, that has never been seen before in the gaming industry. We visited Rajasthan, India and Bali, Indonesia where we grasped the inspiration for the game’s universe.
Handpainted Artstyle- Each and every corner of Raji: An Ancient Epic is hand painted, this utilizes the use several pieces of software, dedication and countless hours. The environment is inspired by the medieval architecture of Rajasthan, which was the pinnacle of architectural achievement during the medieval era of India.
- Favor of the Gods- A feature which allows the player to pick their god and customize various abilities which empower your weapons. Each god grants you an element. Choose between fire, lightning, ice, earth and rage. This feature allows you to craft your own style of game play

The combat is focused on blending the fluidity of movement and attacks of the player character against the mystical and powerful enemies you encounter. While the combat can make one feel a demigod residing in Raji, the vulnerable human side is never too far. The focus of the gameplay is as follows.

Our character art style reflects inspiration from Southeast Asia. The art team went to Bali, Indonesia to study more about the mythology and the background of the island. They are heavily influenced by the demonic statues and sculptures that were later infused within the character art style.
Raji the main protagonist represents a simple innocent face of a Rajasthani girl with fierce eyes and long iconic Indian hair. Her attire has been carefully designed which portrays the tribal costume which young girls of her age wear on day to day basis while performing tricks and acrobats.

Raji: An Ancient Epic follows the story of Raji, who is determined to find her brother Golu, kidnapped by the demons during the invasion. The Epic unfolds as you witness how Raji evolves through the atrocities of war and the loss of loved ones. The music of Raji has an important role to play. We'll be composing original and evocative sound tracks throughout the game's development. We are aiming to fuse traditional Rajasthani Folk and Carnatic Indian music with a western touch.
Thankfully our sound designer, Linus Tzelos, who comes from greece, digs it all. He personally visited Rajasthan in 2014, went through a training of 3 months from the masters themselves, played among the local folk and is now using the experience for the game.
Master of various instruments, part of a greek band "Reggitko" and experienced with working for short movies, we can say Linus will be shaping an absolute masterpiece original sound track.
We are ex employees of Rockstar, Ubisoft, EA and Zynga but to name a few. We are extremely passionate about developing Raji: An Ancient Epic and delivering a quality game is the team's mantra. With just over four decades of experience and infinite passion we look forward to a successful Kickstarter campaign.

It’s been 10 months since we started working on this project. So far, our team has been running on savings and loans. We’ve given everything to this project. Your support will mean the world to us, and help us realize this dream.
Without Kickstarter, the game will not see the light of the day. We're situated in India, where mobile games have picked the trend, and yet one will have to bite their nails trying to find funding for PC/Consoles games. Even if you do, it might come at a cost that might not be the best for the project. Kickstarter allows us to develop the entire game with complete creativity and without the pressure of money.
If funded, we are looking at teaming up with our Kickstarter backers to create a community which can help us make a better game.
*We do not have any kind of publishing or financial deal with Square Enix, the Square Enix Collective is a curated platform that enables creators to post ideas, and gamers to judge whether those ideas should become reality or not, we got 95% yes votes that this game should happen!!
Jess Hider, Ian Kragh, Anya Combs, Mike Bithell, Amy Graves, Phil Elliott, Dan Griner, Phil Dench, Andrie Evripidou, Jordan Latskos, Sokrates Votskos, Nick Barrel, Evagoras Bek, Nick Momtsios and our respected families and friends.
Risks and challenges
Financial Risks: So far, we've invested all our savings, taken loans, sold an apartment, had our bikes on sale, all for the cause that we make it to Kickstarter. Financial risk is the biggest obstacle we have faced so far. We are situated in India, where gaming is still against the norm, forget the support from the government, it can get tough to convince some of our own friends and family members that game development is an actual profession. We have no grants, tax reliefs, incubators where we could have had any kind of financial relief. The financial risk was the most stressful topic of discussion during the last one year. Regardless of these challenges, we risked everything to make sure we reach the Kickstarter with a great campaign. Honestly the money we're asking on Kickstarter is a very ruthless and harsh cut on our initial budget. We are not going to have a fancy or luxirious life, though the amount is just enough to develop the project. The more funding we ask, higher the risk, if we don't manage to meet a higher goal it would mean the death of the project, something we cannot allow at all, as Raji: An Ancient is not just a game for us, it's an important part of our lives already.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
