After working in bands for the last 11 years I am finally setting out to make my debut solo album "Where The Darkness Goes." It has been a wonderful time so far and I have spent much of the last four months holed up preparing for this new and exciting chapter. I have been writing, recording, and developing my songs both by a little lake in Ontario and in the gorgeous landscapes of Utah.
I am recording the album at Minbal studios in Chicago where I will be working with a wonderful engineer Zach Goheen and a handful of incredible Chicago based musician friends. Most of these great musicians I have worked with before and am SO excited to have them be a part of it.
The album has traces of all my musical influences and a colourful array of instruments. In the past few years, I have written music on all the instruments I play and will be featured on guitar, banjo, accordion, ukulele, keys, gutbucket bass and glockenspiel. The songs range from the stripped down feel of old time mountain music to accordion driven European folk, mixed with love and loss from all my years of constantly travelling with music.
Though, I am keeping it simple and using the bare minimum it will still cost over $15,000 to properly record and release this full length album. I am asking for $11,000 which will get me close to my goal in order to make this all happen. I have 30 days to raise $11,000. You can help by spreading the word to friends and family through e-mail, Facebook and Twitter….
I am really excited about this album and the music that I am making and want to thank you in advance for all your support. I couldn't be doing it without you.
Much love always,
