About this project
These decks of standard poker sized playing cards and leather-bound deck holder serve as an homage to aviation from the earliest days to the 1930s—a time defined by travel, art deco style and the spirit of adventure. Both custom decks, The Airplane Blue Deck and Airship Red Deck will be printed by the USPCC in the USA.
All pledges show the number of decks included at the beginning in parenthesis. For example, (2) for two decks. Any pledge level that includes Limited Edition decks is marked with LIMITED EDITION after the number of decks.
I hope you will hold this deck set in your hands and be as inspired as I am by humanity’s ability to defy the laws of nature and fly through the skies. Follow the campaign and watch as the designs come to life and the final limited edition decks are revealed. We will make these decks and deck holder when we reach the funding goal. I have been working with the United States Playing Card Company who is responsible for the Bicycle line of playing cards and several others. When this project is successful they will print these custom designed decks for me and I will send them to you! As we cross milestones, you will have a chance to make these decks truly unforgettable with embossing, silver foil, and other enhancements to both the decks and the Flight Logbook deck holder. The Airplane Deck in blue and the Airship Deck in red will include 4 Aces and 2 Jokers unique to each. Face cards of 12 legendary aviators will be shared among the two decks. Below are pictures of the decks, the Flight Logbook deck holder, dealer coin, Ace Pilot patch, limited edition Ace Print, and even some custom art. They are all available in their own pledge levels or as add-ons to any pledge. Thanks for your support!!
This is an experience.

The Flight Logbook 2-Deck Folio and Art Booklet
I wanted to create a truly unique deck holder to go with this project—something you could just toss in your flight bag and take off! From the outside it looks like a vintage-style flight logbook. The inside features room to hold two flight decks! Get it with two decks, four decks, or as an add on to any of the pledge levels. All Logbooks come signed by the artist with a Limited Edition Art Booklet!
The following items are available as add-ons to any pledge level you choose. Customize your pledge level and get exactly what you want by adding the amount shown.

Ace of Spades Screen Printed Poster
These are limited edition and each one is signed by the artist.
Ace of Spades Patch
No ace pilot is complete without this embroidered ace of spades patch! Free international shipping for this item when added to a pledge level.
I've created a dealer coin that will have a great feel and finish. I'm using the same manufacturer as the Federal 52 coins for my pieces. If you've ever held one of them in your hands, you know they're the real deal!
Simply adjust your pledge by adding the total of add ons. See update #2 for details.
The Flight Deck Project shares the portraits of 12 aviators from the early days of aviation across both decks. In blue tones for the Airplane Playing Cards deck and in red tones for the Airship Playing Cards.
With clear, large numbers and face cards, this deck is great for poker night, but each deck will also come with the following gaff cards. These cards along with a non-bleed border make this a excellent addition to any magician's deck collection. Stripper decks are also available in their own pledge level and as add ons. These will be available in very limited quantity.
Both decks have 4 unique aces based on airplanes or airships, depending on the deck.
Each deck features 2 unique jokers with imagery from ancient myths about flight. Below are shown the Icarus from the Airplane Blue Deck and the Hugin & Mugin from the Airship Red Deck. The Airplane deck features two jokers from Greek mythology and the Airship deck features to jokers from Norse mythology.
I was going to include a t-shirt as part of this kickstarter, but I know from experience that sizes and shipping really slow down the packing process. But there is a shirt available right now through the webstore—sizes S to XL. These ship out right away, separately from any Kickstarter pledge rewards.
The People involved:
Risks and challenges
Risks? In the spirit of the Aviators, we take risks because it makes life worth living. But we do our research and mitigate our risks. This is my fourth Kickstarter project, so I've worked out a lot of the gremlins in my delivery chain. There might be a few spots of turbulence that add some time to production, but we'll land safely. I've already begun working with Bicycle on the cards. When the project reaches funding, I will send them everything for final approval. Depending on the funds raised, the project could grow in scope. A possible sequel series focusing on WWII era planes is very tempting!
