Last year I realized a long-time dream of creating an alphabet book using my original artwork to illustrate the pages.
Oregon Public Broadcasting produced a little video that shows some behind-the-scenes views on this project. Click here to see it!
Here's the final stop-action animation that Kickstarter backers got on DVD: (everyone else can watch it for free on the web.)
The project was really fun, but much more work and expense than I anticipated. In order to get it to Kickstarter backers and have Elephabet available to others before the holidays, I didn't have time to do the promotion I wanted, but I'm making up for that this May. If you're in the Portland, Oregon area, I hope you'll join me for one of my six free events to celebrate Elephabet.
I believe that Elephabet is a book that has so much potential, but as a self-published author, the cost for realizing these ideas come out of my own pocket. I am eternally grateful to my Kickstarter backers for helping me print an initial run of books, and now I'm returning to ask for your support in helping me realize two more aspects of this book that I am asked about all the time: an e-book and a poster.
To help me cover printing, design, and e-book conversion costs, I have put together a bunch of fun rewards here on Kickstarter to thank you for your support. At the lower levels, you can choose to receive the e-book or poster, or I'm bringing back a few of the Kickstarter-exclusive items you saw in my last campaign like the button and the dvd, and a brand new exclusive t-shirt with the cover of Elephabet emblazoned on the front. At the higher levels, you'll get great deals on original artwork and a few gift packages including Elephabet, the companion workbook Do-it-YourSelfabet, DVD and a button. Please see the item descriptions on the right, and the FAQ section below for more details on these rewards and more!
Thank you so much for supporting this next phase of Elephabet. And stay tuned for my next Kickstarter project launching this summer!
