Lola's Prayer is a short film that we are seeking to produce in Columbia, SC. The script has been adapted from the short story of the same name written by Lou Dischler and included in the book "Expecting Goodness."
Lola buys a Chinchilla from a farmer on the side of the road. By the time she gets home the Chinchilla is missing. Lola starts seeing hairs around the tailpipe of her car and becomes convinced the Chinchilla is stuck in her tailpipe. Her neighbor Mozzie tries to convince Lola to pray to the Virgin Mary and all things that trouble her, especially her Chinchilla problem, will be resolved. It's a quirky, fun story about Lola's steps to stop living in the past and get on with her future.
Lola's Prayer is a complete indie production. Production will take place over the course of three and a half days in and around Columbia. We will be using all local talent and crew. This is a total independent production and is being shot in HiDef video.
Where the money goes...
The funds from Kickstarter go 100% back into the production. The director is not taking any payment and all funds raised will go to cover the costs of production (equipment, props, locations, etc.) as well as compensate talent and crew, however little the amount, for their time.
The Cast and Crew
An All-Star cast of local actors are taking part in the film. The incredible talent we have assembled is Lorrie Rivers is playing our lead, Lola and wonderful supporting roles are being performed by Kim Harne, Vicky Saye Hednerson, Steve Harley, Alex Smith, Bill Kealy and Tom Hall.
It is a quirky and touching script adapted from Lou Dischler's short story, we hope you are able to support our project.
