About this project
What happens when you mix the A-Team, Batman and Uni-Kitty's magic horn? We don’t know either but we’re pretty sure they hate flat tires too. We’ve been in the bike industry since 2009 and have literally seen thousands of flat tires. Nothing ruins a ride or commute faster than a flat. We've searched the globe to find a better tire. While trying not to overstate the awesomeness of our discoveries, we think we’re offering two solutions that rival the innovation of toilet paper (well… pretty close). Introducing Nexo Tires and Ever Tires.
Nexo tires are the next leap in flat free tire innovation. These are for riders who are looking for something light with improved performance. These tires are perfect for road cyclists, commuters, and anyone that hates getting flats. Nexo tires are manufactured in an eco-friendly process and can potentially save billions of tires from polluting our landfills.
Mother Nature called... she doesn't want her tires back.
The manufacturing process of traditional rubber tires requires eight to nine steps. A single tire requires numerous hours of production including labor, materials and resources consumed during the manufacturing period. Our tires only require one process and only take 30 minutes to produce. Due to the fact that our tires are a one piece manufacturing process they are greener to produce and to recycle. Both you, our environment and the mighty Sasquatch deserve something better.
The Nexo Tires are unique because they attach to your existing rims. It's as simple as changing your tires for a flat free solution that will save you time and money.
The T-bolts attach to the Nexo tire which in turn secures itself under the lip of the rim. They look nearly identical to your regular tires but weigh less than solid tires and even many air filled tires.
The Nexo Tires weigh as much as a regular tire/tube and liner. So there's not additional weight especially when you consider you no longer have to carry around a pump and spare tube. Below is the heaviest Nexo tire we offer next to a standard solid tire.
We know some of you may be thinking because it's lightweight it probably won't last. Our tests have shown that these tires go and go.
We've tackled durability, weight and are now working on offering a variety of colors so you can customize your ride to fit your personality.
Installation of the Nexo tire is easy. Here's a quick video on how to install them yourself.
Nexo Tire Installation
If Nexo won't fit your tire try Ever Tires.
Ever Tires are great for kids bikes, cruisers, and the casual rider. They don't age like a regular tire and can go 5,000 miles without ever going flat. That's like riding across the US and back again.
Secret Sauce: No air = No flats. Ever Tires are made of a one-of-a-kind unique polymer blend that promotes durability along with control.
In addition to its elegant appearance, the brilliant design produces a reduction in weight that will allow you to compete with the top athletes in your area... well at least the kids on your block.
Among the many advantages of Ever Tires it handles great on the road and corners as well as your regular tire. It's lighter weight than a standard solid tire.
Ever Tires come in complete wheel sets. That means you'll get the tires, rims, spokes and gears. They're easy to install. Simply take off your old tire and put on the new Ever Tires.
We really wanted to improve the pollution problem tires can make so we looked for a manufacturing partner that could make the tires in an eco-friendly manner. By creating less waste, improving durability you can keep your tires on your bike and out of the landfills.
While it’s difficult to contend with the performance of an air inflated tire, adjustments to the density of the polymer as well as the number of holes in the tire have been made to provide a mix of cushion and resilience. The tires are designed for road riding.
You watched the video so you have an idea of who we are. Here's a little more about us. We’ve owned a bike shop in Utah for 7 years where the infamous puncture weed reigns supreme, much to the chagrin of our friends and customers. To repair these flats it can cost anywhere from $15-30 (depending on what needs to be replaced). So to save our customers money and heartache we went to work on a better solution. With backgrounds in product development, international relations and project management we felt we were up to the task. We’ve scanned the globe looking for strategic partners who could provide that perfect ratio of quality and economy. We’re pleased with the partners we’ve found and feel they are as dedicated as we are to providing a high performing product. We’re looking for your support to help rid the world of annoying flats.
We're currently on track for January ship date and look forward to getting your bikes fixed and ready for the road.
Risks and challenges
We're really excited about these two solutions and are ready to start manufacturing immediately. While we feel these tires are great at preventing flats there are some limitations. These tires were not made for skidding and extreme hot temperatures. If you skid on these tires they will get abnormally worn in a specific location thereby negatively influencing the ride quality.
Additionally, these tires should not be used on trainers with metal surfaces as this causes the tires to heat up and the tire quality can also be negatively affected.Because of our unique designs the tires aren't as cushioned as an air filled tire. So please don't plan on using these for extreme mountain trails. Finally, when used in place of road tires there is a 15% increase in drag which is great for training but not for race day. So please keep this in mind when making your riding plans.
No. They sound the same as a regular tire.
The tires were designed for road use. So if you are on a cruiser, road bike, commuter, hybrid then both Ever Tires and Nexo Tires could work for you. However, we suggest that you don't use these for mountain riding because there isn't as much cushion as your mountain tires.
We'd love to be able to ship outside the US. However, with shipping costs as high as they are we're not able to at this time. Thanks for your patience and if you have any suggestion on making this more economical please feel free to contact us.
The Nexo tires feel very similar, the polymers we use have been engineered to give them a feel very comparable to standard road tires. We have had road cyclists do century rides (100 mile bike rides) on the Nexo tires and they say they can hardly tell a difference. The Ever Tires are more stiff than an regular tire but more cushioned than other solid tires.
The Nexo tires do have a slight increase rolling resistance than standard tires. It is about 10% to 15% higher depending on the size of the tire. This isn't going to be a tire you race with but a tire you train and commute with. Several riders have said they like the added resistance because it actually pushes them to work harder while riding. It's a similar concept to baseball players using donut weights on their bat to get stronger.
Both Nexo and Ever tires are very different than solid rubber tires. First off the materials we use are a silicone plastic based polymer and not a rubber. This makes them easier to engineer to get the feel and ride quality we want. It also makes them easier to produce and recycle. Second because of the design they are significantly lighter than solid rubber tires. The weight of one of our tires is comparable to a heavy duty rubber tire with liners and a tube. In fact we have seen where our tires are lighter than some heavy duty road tires with liners.
If you're concerned about weight Nexo Tires are going to be for you they are light weight and durable. You'll notice they lighter than some regular tire/tubes with liners. Their weights are below:
26x1 3/8 530g
Additionally, when you add in the fact you won't need a pump and extra tube you get the additional weight reduction.
We recommend that you don't put more than 265lbs of weight on the tires. They may wear faster and you could have a less enjoyable riding experience.
The Nexo can stand up to 70 degrees Celsius or 158 degrees Fahrenheit for up to three hours. So you should be able to ride anywhere in the world and not have any issues.

We love mountain biking. If the truth be known many of us prefer mountain bike to road biking. So we have definitely looked at doing a mountain bike tire. Did I mention we love mountain biking? As of right now our manufacturing processes are limited to cruiser/road style of tires. During manufacturing the wider tires with bigger tread simply fry on the outside and are weak on the inside. We'll keep working on it and as soon as this changes we will let you know.
