What happens after you make it?
In 64 pages, Bruno lives the comic book artist life (if there is such a thing) along with his girlfriend. Together (as much as together you can be being in a long distance relationship) they figure out life, philosophy and bills. Hopefully in a really funny way.
About me and the idea
My name's Bruno Oliveira and I'm a professional comic book artist.
I've worked for several publishers like IDW (Drones), Arcana, and most recently I've done a few books for Marvel (Amazing Spider-Man Annual, Gwenpool Holiday Special, Mosaic and a couple other things).
I've been trying to find the right time to do this story for so long. It's what it’s like working as a comic book artist and juggling all the important things in life...in an entertaining way.
It's me reduced to 64-pages! It's realizing how my tragedies are only tragedies until I write them down, and suddenly they're funny!
I've been doing short stories and posting them on Instagram for my followers and I'm going to show some of them to you here:
As the campaign moves forwards, I'll be releasing the final cover for the book as well as a real preview of the actual book!
The goal here is to reach funding for the first book. I have scripts written for 3 and if this campaign is successful, I'll put the 2nd and 3rd on Kickstarter as well!
The book will be 64 pages, colored, printed in softcover. If we pass our goal, there will be a stretch goal to make it into a hardcover copy for every supporter! I'll be showing you the cover really soon!
The Sketchbook (digital)
This is the 60-page sketchbook. It's a PDF (digital) file with layouts, sketches, character designs, comic pages and illustrations of my past projects. Here are some samples:
These are 2.5 x 2.5 inch Stickers. And here are the options available for you guys to choose!!
These are some of the mini-prints for you guys to choose as well! These are quotes from the short preview stories!
Making-Of Video (digital)
I'll post here a short teaser from the making-of the comic book video!
Original Marvel Artwork (physical)
These are a few of the Marvel Comics original pages you'll be able to purchase (from Deadpool #21, Mosaic #6, Mosaic #7, Spider-Man Annual and Gwenpool Holiday Special)! After purchased, I'll send these and a few others to choose from.
Headless Deadpool Double-Spread (physical)
This is the double-spread from the reward you can purchase! This is from Deadpool #21, pages 31 and 32!
Commissions are original artwork made exclusive for you (you choose the character), meaning the original artwork will be shipped to you! Here are a few samples of commissions.
The Story Of You (physical + digital)
The story will be written in partnership between Bruno and the supporter(s). Then everything will be sketched, drawn, inked, digitally colored and digitally lettered. The original black and white (inked) artwork will be shipped to you, while the colored lettered high-resolution artwork will be sent to you via email!
Lotan Kritchman and Gio Cardenas Commissions!
Two new rewards just arrived. Commissions by character designer Lotan Kritchman (Character designer BoJack Horseman) and Gio Cardenas (storyboard artist BoJack Horseman). Here some of their artwork
The $5,000 budget will cover all the costs, from printing to producing the book. The script is already written and it’s already in the first stages of layouts.
Bruno is a freelance artist, so the budget also includes the money for him to be able to work on the book without any delay, and to have everything delivered by April 2018!
Risks and challenges
In order to complete the remaining stages of the book, Bruno will be working on "What Now, Bruno?" so any other freelance projects during that time will be put on hold until the book is completed.
We expect the book (which is already written and most layouts done) to be finished (penciled, inked, colored and lettered) by the beginning of March. Then it should spend about 45 days printing and then everything will be shipped to our backers around mid-May.
Of course, I'll keep everybody constantly updated.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
