Thanks for clarifying... But with so many accolades the item had been receiving at all the events you been telling us... And then no further ideas to push this campaign through... It was hard to not think otherwise.. . In any case, I think many of us are sad that we won't be getting this cool product anytime soon but it was a good run nevertheless.

Alvin - unfortunately you are not correct and I'm not really sure on what information you're basing this statement. It is indeed disappointing that we have not reached our goal and we now need to re-evaluate the validity of the product as we've presented it. That said, sometime things you try are unsuccessful, we accept it and and it doesn't mean we are indifferent to the project 'flying or sinking'.

I'm working on the final update now that the project time is ending.

    4. Missing_small

Creator Alvin Lua on March 5, 2013

Somehow I have a feeling that the originators already got sufficient industry tie-ups for wholesale/distributorship from all the exposure the mauz had gotten from the events and media, so whether here fly or sink it wouldn't be a topmost concern to them anymore. Disappointing really.

its only 12 days more to go and total pledge is only 17% from target. What is the plan to make this moving forward to reach your goal. If goal is not reached would you still move forward with the product using other avenue?

Thank you Gilad for the reply and for anticipating users not removing their case.

    12. Gilad_profile_pic_1.small

Creator Gilad Meiri on February 5, 2013

Q: Is the MAUZ designed to be used with a "naked" iPhone, or will it work with a variety of case designs?
A: we don’t expect users to remove their case for using MAUZ. In fact, we've anticipated this issue and designed MAUZ to have some flexibility to account for different cases’ dimensions. 3mm is definitely within this range. In fact, we don’t expect you to have any issues with most standard cases. In addition, you’ll be getting “mouse legs” with MAUZ, 4 stickers that you can use with any case to allow smoother movement and prevent case scratches.

    13. Calvin.small

Creator Jakester on February 1, 2013

Wow! I just backed the project, but I think Ssylex has a REALLY good point. It'll kill the excitement I have for the project if I have to take a case off my iPhone 5, in order to use Mauz. Can we get an answer for that question? I'm going to cross my fingers and hope for the answer I want.

Is the MAUS dongle designed to be used with a "naked" iPhone, or will it work with a variety of case designs? My iPhone 5 case (e13ctron S5) has a 3mm wall of aluminum that I'm concerned might prevent the dongle from making a solid connection, and removing the phone from the case is... inconvenient. :)

    15. Gilad_profile_pic_1.small

Creator Gilad Meiri on January 17, 2013

Q: why does MAUZ connect through the connector and not through the audio jack?
A: we have considered both options. The big advantage of an audio-jack connection is the ability to standardize through different models. However, it is lacking in terms of smartphone-MAUZ communication and we would have had to add additional power source. We decided that going through the connector would work best for our 1st generation MAUZ.

We received a few requests to increase the number of backers for the early adopters rewards. We decided to agree.
We've increased the number of MAUZ available for the early-adopters rewards to 200 (for both iPhone 4/4S and iPhone 5). If you already backed us, you are welcome to change your pledge accordingly.

      Cheers!

If you are serious about funding this project, I would recommend vastly expanding the early adopter special. The $14 dollar difference may not be a deal-breaker for most potential supporters but it definitely creates negative feelings. I, for one, was ready to pledge at the $45 level but will not do so at $59.

Currently you are averaging roughly $50 per pledge, at such a rate you would need 3000 supporters to reach your goal. Expanding the early bird special to 500 (for each iPhone version) will likely bring in more supporters and create a more positive vibe about your project.

      Just a thought.

Marie (and whoever else is interested),
Thank you for reaching out. We’d also like to see our project funded… we are currently all hands on deck. CES was a great place to launch – we created many important contacts that would help us bring MAUZ to market.
Important to note, MAUZ is not our first creation, so we are fully aware of the efforts required to bring a new product (you can check our previous products on our website: www.spicebox.it).

In terms of next steps, we have a few plans we can share:

      1. Continuing the road show: MAUZ is going to be featured on MACWORLD 2013. Come check us out!
      2. Media appearances: we received a lot of media attention during the CES. MAUZ will continue to be featured on international, national and local media outlets.
      3. Social media campaign. We want to make sure as many people as possible learn about MAUZ, even those who don’t read CES news.

Last, and maybe most important, this is a bootstrapping campaign. We’d be happy to hear from you. If you have great ideas or thoughts and would to actively support us, you are welcome to reach out either here or through info@spicebox.it.

      Cheers!

Q: Do I need to install any drivers? What if i have multiple computers?
A: MAUZ can seamlessly integrate with each of your computers. Before you use it for the first time, you will need to install MAUZ servers on each computer you'd like to use MAUZ on. From that point on, MAUZ will automatically identify and control each one of the computers.

In order for this to work, you just connect it to your wifi network and it will automatically connect to your computer, correct? What if i have multiple computers? Is there any software/drivers we need to install on the computer before using it?

Creator Gavin Chester on January 9, 2013

Can you clarify "MAUZ can connect to both PC and Apple computers"

Can it connect is one thing, is the software / drivers written and working on a PC is another. There is little point having an all singing and dancing mouse if the drivers on the PC don't support all the functions.

Also what OS's will the PC driver work in?

Creator Anthonny Gunawan on January 9, 2013

    34. Gilad_profile_pic_1.small

Creator Gilad Meiri on January 9, 2013

IMPORTANT CLARIFICATION: currently, we offer MAUZ just for iPhone 4, 4S and 5. We use the word "smartphone" in our movie and project description as our vision is to create MAUZ for every popular smartphone model and OS. After successfully launching MAUZ for iPhone, we plan to have an Android version. In fact, it is already in early stages of development.
We apologize for any confusion. We've tried to be as clear as possible regarding our current project goals.

      Thank you for your questions!
