A supply chain and logistics management professional by
trade, I began baking artisan bread as a hobby four years ago, and by trial and
error I taught myself the basics. Eager to improve my knowledge and proficiency,
I traveled to Germany to study the craft with the masters. While there, I
acquired valuable baking skills, as I learned to create an assortment of breads,
rolls and genuine German pretzels. Upon returning home, my hobby quickly grew
into a passion and the following year, encouraged by my family and friends, I
left corporate America and opened my own artisan bakery, selling my breads at
farmers' markets, natural food stores and local restaurants.
Thirsting for more knowledge and wanting to advance my
skills to a much higher level, I went back a second time and totally immersed
myself in the bread culture, studying in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Along the way, I developed friendships with many bakers, millers and
farmers, who shared their expertise and knowledge of the centuries old German bread
culture with me.
Having acquired the know-how, I decided to share my passion with
other bread lovers by developing authentic European bread mixes from some of
the age-old recipes I’ve mastered. I’ve simplified the baking process so that
anyone can make my breads at home, without any special equipment and with very little
active preparation time.
To insure the highest level of quality, nutrition and
flavor, all of my bread mixes are made with Organic German flour. I’ve
contracted with a small, employee owned producer of organic flour, named Bauckhof,
in business since 1969, which will be blending and packaging my bread mixes. I
have finalized the recipes, the packaging designs are at the printer, and all I
need to do now is place my first order for production.
In collaboration with Kickstarter and
its members, Americans will for the first time, have the opportunity and personal satisfaction of baking nutritious and delicious organic breads from Germany, Switzerland, Austria, France and Italy in their own kitchens. Your pledges will help finance the cost of bringing the first container of bread mixes to the USA. The shipment will arrive at the Port of Houston in the beginning of December.
