"Sudsy Slim Rides Again" is the tale of a small Alaskan town by the name of SCRATCHER PASS. Unfortunately, Scratcher Pass' boom-town days as the world's largest asbestos mining operation have long since faded.
The only thing keeping this little community alive is its feeble tourist industry. The main attraction? Scratcher Pass' most famous resident, the 100 year old corpse of conman, SUDSY SLIM.
However, when two escaped prisoners stumble into town, Sudsy mysteriously ends up missing and the townsfolk panic. That’s when Agent Dudley Sherman of the Alaska Bureau of Criminal Detection is reluctantly dragged in to investigate.
Just who are you guys?
Chad Carpenter has been drawing the newspaper comic strip TUNDRA for the past 25 years and currently can be seen in over 650 newspapers around the world. TUNDRA is the most successful self-syndicated comic strip in newspaper history. This has also resulted in more than 27 TUNDRA books, dozens of calendars and T-shirts, as well as a myriad of other TUNDRA paraphernalia. From the beginning, Chad’s brother Darin has been vital in helping keep the cartoon ideas fresh. Not only that, but Chad and Darin have collaborated on many other projects such as film scripts, including "MOOSE The Movie", a children’s book, and of course the story of “SUDSY SLIM RIDES AGAIN”!
In addition, sitting in the director's chair for "SUDSY SLIM RIDES AGAIN", will be G. Logan Dellinger of NOMAD CINEMATICS.
Chad, Darin, Nomad Cinematics and the entire SUDSY team plan to take the same out-of-the-box thinking that has made TUNDRA and "MOOSE The Movie" so successful, and apply it to creating this film while incorporating some of the things they love most – nature, humor and their home state of ALASKA.
This will be a project that you will be proud to say you helped make happen!

COOL. But what's in it for me?
Lots of stuff! Not only will you be a part of creating an exciting movie with a unique story line, memorable characters and some beautiful Alaska scenery, but you'll also get great swag! In fact, we think you'll find that the reward packages are quite generous. Check them out on the right of your screen as well as the visuals below. (If you're using a mobile device, everything might all be visible below.) In most cases, the retail value of the reward packages well exceed the price of the sponsorship levels!
I'm new to Kickstarter – How does it work?
We set a goal -- in this case, $60,000. We set a deadline for Friday, June 19. You pledge whatever you feel like. Remember that the bigger the pledge, the greater the rewards (look above for a list of all the cool rewards we offer).
If we make the goal by the deadline, your credit card is charged what you pledged (but not until then). We will have met our goal, you get your rewards and everyone is happy.
Even if we meet our goal early you can keep pledging. You will still get your cool rewards and we’ll be able to make "SUDSY SLIM RIDES AGAIN" even bigger and better!
If we DON'T make the goal, your credit card is NOT charged, we DON’T get a penny and you DON’T get any of the wonderful rewards. Let’s try to make sure THAT horrible scenario doesn’t happen.
What can I do to help “SUDSY SLIM RIDES AGAIN"?
Besides backing the film, you can SPREAD THE WORD! Tell your friends about the project via email, share it on Facebook, tweet about it, anything! Heck, you could even talk to strangers in the elevator about it! Don’t let a little thing like a restraining order deter you!
Can you really make this movie?
Absolutely. We have a team of excited and talented people on this project. Fantastic editors, experienced camera and lighting folks, hungry actors, professional equipment & a whole lot of drive to see this thing through! Not only that, but we also have a PROVEN TRACK RECORD! Our previous feature-length film, released April of 2015, "MOOSE THE MOVIE," enjoyed a limited release by both Regal Cinemas and Coming Attraction Theaters. Another successful film project, released August of 2016, was "ROBERT SERVICE'S TALES OF THE NORTH." Trailers for both films can be seen by visiting www.tundracomics.com
You can also see a lot of great samples of work from NOMAD CINEMATICS (the production company responsible for SUDSY SLIM RIDES AGAIN, MOOSE THE MOVIE and ROBERT SERVICE'S TALES OF THE NORTH) by going to www.nomadcinematics.com
When do you plan to start shooting?
We plan to start shooting May 30, 2017 and complete principal photography by JULY 30, 2017.
When will everything be finished?
After the principal filming, the next and most time-consuming phase begins - EDITING. We plan on completing everything by March of 2018 with the theatrical release the following month. All backers will be kept in the loop on all progress, delays, and miscellaneous exciting news. You can always keep tabs on the project by joining any (or all) of our Facebook pages:

Risks and challenges
We're always striving to try new and creative adventures. As a wonderful friend of ours used to say, "Dream big and dare to fail." Whether it's completing successful feature-length films, creating a daily newspaper comic for over 25 years, writing children's books or even attempting to do plumbing in our own houses, there is always an element of "WHAT THE HECK ARE WE DOING!?" However, we have found if we persevere and keep focused on the goal, the project will always get done.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
