What's In It For You
Chef Spoons – The Details:
The epoxy resin we use to secure the inlaid artwork in the spoon's handle conforms to Title 21, FDA Chapter 1, Section 175.105 for indirect type food applications. That’s a fancy way of saying Chef Spoons can touch your food and it’s ok. Chef Spoons' epoxy resin has superior chemical resistance to oil, fuels, acids, bases, salts, and solvents. Its temperature range is from -60°F to +400°F, making Chef Spoons totally dishwasher safe. Basically, the Chef Spoons' epoxy resin can withstand anything it is exposed to in the kitchen.
A lot of what makes Chef Spoons so special is the inlaid artwork. Every Chef Spoon's handle features a handcrafted piece, each of which has at least a touch of glitter. TeDAM! and friends created the original artwork. We are very grateful to the gifted individuals who contributed their talents and time to our cause. Chef Spoons would not have happened without them.
Chef Spoons are virtually indestructible. The spoons themselves are made of 18/8 stainless steel to withstand the abuse they would face every day in a professional kitchen. You can chunk a Chef Spoon across the room and it’s all good, man. The crazy awesome wicked sweet designs will remain fully intact. We know – we’ve tried it.
Think you've got big bowls? We've got really big bowls. One advantage to having such large, deep bowls is you can hold more product, thus avoiding having to go back and forth from pot to plate to pot to plate. The Chef Spoon's bowl holds 23 mL - that's a lot! The bowl of a Chef Spoon is designed specifically for professional use. It’s tip tapers to a near-point, making for a more controlled plating experience, as well as making those hard-to-reach corners of the pot easily accessible. The narrow tip keeps tasting clean and easy despite the bowl’s bigger size. Thanks to the bowl's specially designed edge, a silicon rubber spatula is the only thing in your cooking arsenal that can scrape the sides of a bowl more efficiently than a Chef Spoon.
Second only to knives, the spoon is the most valuable tool in a professional chef’s arsenal. Ask any chef – you gotta have your spoon, man. A chef’s spoon is a very personal thing. Yet, they all look the same. Not anymore! Chef Spoons are as diverse and unique as the men and women who use them. Every chef has his/her personal style - why not individualize your spoon to reflect that style? Chef Spoons allow all chefs to do exactly that. Plus, if you have a Chef Spoon, nobody will be jacking it in the kitchen because everyone will know exactly whose it is!
Chef Spoons – Not JUST for Chefs
Though specifically designed for chefs who work in the industry, Chef Spoons appeal to everyone. They are excellent kitchen accessories, useful cooking tools, and unique serving utensils. Chef Spoons are great presents for anyone who enjoys cooking. Or, if there is someone you wish would cook more often, a set of Chef Spoons might be just the encouragement he/she needs. How the Chef Spoon Came to Be
Chef Adam had worked over a dozen years in professional kitchens, shady kitchen, yachts, hotels, bungalows, estates, out of state, out of the country . . . most recently, as a private chef. He wasn’t used to other people using his tools and utensils. When he went to work in a regular kitchen, he found that, though no chef would dare touch another chef’s knives, that rule didn’t apply to Chef Adam’s favorite tasting spoon. So one day, he went home, found something cool he and his wife had made, and attached it to his spoon. Nobody was going to jack it now!
The rest of the guys in the kitchen loved his spoon! And they all wanted one of their own. Next thing you know, Chef Adam was making spoons for everyone in the kitchen.
Though the guys totally dug their spoons, Chef Adam wasn’t satisfied. Eventually, he realized what he really wanted to do was make the ultimate all-purpose spoon for professional chefs.
The Evolution of Chef Spoons
Why We Need You
Chef Spoons are ready to go to production. All supplies have been tried and tested rigorously. We have the final prototype in our possession. We have done everything shy of, well, you know, doing IT.
We have been working with a manufacturer for over a year. At this point, they are just (kind of impatiently) waiting for the word to begin the first production run. The bulk of funds from this Kickstarter campaign will go toward production of the actual 18/8 stainless steel body of the Chef Spoon.
What is left over will be divided among the following, though not in equal amounts: supplies for creating and implanting the artwork, compensating the talented artists who created these art pieces, and shipping Chef Spoons to all of our supporters.

Risks and challenges
This is our first Kickstarter campaign so there will definitely be a few oops-never-thought-of-that moments, but we can’t tell you specifically what those will be because, oops, haven’t thought of them.
Being a first-timer is, in and of itself, challenging and risky. In fact, this whole thing is. Sharing your passion with the world knowing there is potential you will discover the world doesn’t share that passion with you. That’s hard to do. But, we really believe in Chef Spoons. So, we’re gonna embrace any risk and/or challenge we encounter, and conquer it. We know communication is vital, and we promise to keep you up-to-date on our progress during the campaign, while Chef Spoons are in production, and throughout the reward fulfillment process.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
