Once upon a time, YouTube vloggers Kristina Horner and Joe Homes decided to collaborate by making videos asking each other to choose between the weirdest hypothetical situations we could come up with, in the fashion of standard either-or storytelling. They went online to find some inspiration, and, shockingly, were met with an alarmingly large amount of terrible and bland questions. They took it upon themselves to craft much more interesting and intelligent questions, and had so much fun doing so that they decided they had to find a way to share them with the world. Already being game enthusiasts, it seemed only natural to try to turn this pastime into a party game.

They teamed up with Wyrd, who helped develop the initial idea into a butt-kickingly awesome good time. Players start by being asked a basic 'either or' style question. But then - with the transmog deck - your friends get to change the rules on you, making an already crazy scenario even more insane.
Each game is different, because the players get to change the story every time they play depending on which transmog words are paired with each question. Jetpack Unicorn is easy enough for true beginners to pick up, but it’ll keep even the most advanced storytellers entertained for hours on end!

Add ons (increase your pledge amount to gain the following special rewards!) There will be more as we unlock stretch goals!
(FREE to everyone pledging at the $33 level and above) - Promo cards written by Hank Green, Tyler Oakley, and Grace Helbig. Each of them have created between 4 to 9 promo cards which will be included with your pledge!

(+$10) A set of blank cards (18 cards total - 9 question and 9 transmog) so you can write your own "official" questions and trasmog words! This add on may be purchased any number of times.
.
Stretch goals (all free stretch goals are given to backers only at $33 and above, unless otherwise noted.)

More stretches to come when we hit our goal!

3+ Players (We recommend limiting the number to your enclosure’s fire regulation limit.)
15 – 30 minutes (or however long you want to keep playing!)
265 cards (enough to play over and over...and over)
The World Needs a Jetpack Unicorn is an absurdly entertaining party game in which you demonstrate to your friends, family, or random people in line at conventions that you’re awesome. Each player is given the task of convincing someone else that certain crazy subjects – such as glitter monsters or magnetic hands - are better, worse, or just plain weirder than others. If you can successfully do this and earn the most points, you win and get to demand that all of your friends do everything you say for the next 24 hours… Ok, that’s not really true. Turns out we can’t force mind control on your opponents, but at least you win the game!
We just uploaded a video of us playing with our friends, take a look!
Keep an eye out for the official rules, they are getting a final polishing right now!

Your pledge includes shipping within the U.S. (Please add $8 for Alaska and Hawaii). For shipping outside the U.S., please add the amount listed at that pledge level. If you live deep in the heart of the Congolese jungle, or are on sabbatical studying penguins in the Antarctic, we'll probably have to contact you and work something out.
Please note that all reward levels will ship at the same time. Digital rewards will be delivered shortly after the conclusion of this Kickstarter. If you are at Vidcon or Gen Con, you will be able to pick up your physical copy of the game (assuming that manufacturing is done by then). More details on how to do that before those shows!

The funds brought in through this campaign will be used in three ways, in priority order.
1) Fulfill the kickstarter pledges! All of you are helping to make this game a reality, so we want to make sure to get our game into your hands as quickly as possible, along with all the other rewards. Thank you for your trust in us, we take it very seriously
2) Manufacture enough Jetpack Unicorn to get it into your local gaming stores! In teaming up with Wyrd Games, we have access not only to their knowledge of game manufacturing, but also their entire distribution chain. We simply can't wait until you can go down to your game store and pick up an extra copy or two for your friends.
3) Expansions! Once we're done with 1 and 2, we can set our sights on expanding Jetpack Unicorn in new and exciting ways. We've already written the Apocalypse expansion (use your imagination on that one!), and look forward to writing a Kickstarter expansion with all of you! We have so many more questions to explore, as well as rules twists to keep the game growing and fresh each time you play it.

Kristina Horner is a nerd who tries to do it all. Based in Seattle, she is a writer and video blogger best known online as the YouTube user "italktosnakes", though she’s also a producer/actor in the dystopian/comedy web series "Job Hunters". Kristina spends a lot of her time going to nerd-related conventions, trying to find a way to add more hours into the day, and being a full time fan of Harry Potter.
Joe Homes has been producing online music, video, and, more recently, games, for the last three years. He splits his time between acting, writing, and gaming. He loves tinkering with rulesets, and apologizes to his tabletop RPG players for his experimental homebrewed systems. He vlogs on Youtube as “Plus2Joe.”
Kristina and Joe are also part of a collaborative “Let’s Play” YouTube channel called “TeamHypercube” alongside their friend Justin. Their channel is home to more than 250 episodes of various video game and board game playthroughs; among these is their most popular game series, “Evil Baby Orphanage”. ;)
Wyrd has been making games for five years and recently completed their first (very) successful Kickstarter for the Evil Baby Orphanage card game. Other games in their lineup include Malifaux, Puppet Wars, Through the Breach (a Malifaux RPG), Showdown, and Terraclips.
Last but not least, here are the vlogs that started it all. The genesis of Jetpack Unicorn:
Risks and challenges
The game is nearly done! The art is amazing and we have production lined up. We are turning to Kickstarter to help overcome the challenge of actually getting the game manufactured! In teaming up with Wyrd, fulfillment of Kickstarter rewards falls into their capable hands, so the risk if minimal. Rest easy knowing your Jetpack Unicorn starts its journey to your door when you pledge.
Wyrd has successfully fulfilled their first Kickstarter, Evil Baby Orphanage, and is currently on schedule to deliver on their second, Through the Breach (a Malifaux RPG) with nearly every item currently being manufactured, and the game itself in late stages of final testing.
