Ever wonder where magical items come from? You're about to find out!
Manaforge is a dice-rolling, resource management game of crafting magical equipment. Players step into the role of wizards who specialize in creating magic items. Each wizard owns a magic shop in which they display the fruits of their labor for gold-laden adventurers to come in and purchase.
However, the adventurers' funds are finite, so wizards must compete to make their shops stand out from the rest. And what better way to impress adventurers then to have the most impressive selection of useful and powerful magical gear. At the end of the day, the wizard who accumulates the most Prestige (victory points) will attract the customers and make the sales. May the craftiest wizard win!
Manaforge is played over nine rounds. At the beginning of each round, six cards representing the items that can be created that round are placed on the center board.
Then, each player rolls their own handful of dice. The symbols shown on each player's dice represent the mana that player has available to spend that round.
Going clockwise, each player takes their turn. During a player's turn, they may spend mana to construct one of the items from the center board. They may also activate cards in their shop, gaining benefits such as additional mana or prestige, and may upgrade their cards to allow for more powerful effects.
Strategies and card combinations abound, as players try to obtain cards that combine together well and produce a steady stream of prestige, while simultaneously leaving enough resources available to construct the powerful but expensive items available at the end of the game. The player who best manages their resources, time, and options will grab the most prestige and claim the title of best magic shop!

Risks and challenges
The two main sources of risk in producing a board game are in manufacturing and shipping. The manufacturing will be done in China, where we don't have the ability to physically be there and oversee the parts being created. Manufacturing could take longer than expected, or there could be a flaw in the components that requires them to be remade. Similarly, shipping could incur delays, as sending several pallets of merchandise on a huge boat could hit slowdowns like bad weather, inspections, and additional paperwork.
We have padded our time estimate to help compensate for unforeseen obstacles, and we will do our best to keep everyone informed of problems as they occur. We are confident that this will be a successful project despite anything life may choose to throw at us.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
