I have to say, your attitude is very confrontational for someone just trying to spread the word about your product and your company.
And in my personal opinion (and I'm sure you'll tell me I don't know what I'm talking about) you're failing in that goal.
You're offering a product, but haven't listed what all it comes included with. You mentioned knives and water tablets and all sorts as if we were supposed to know your product included those when others don't.
You haven't itemised the contents, shown pictures of it, or done anything other than state you've lost a child, and this could have saved them.
I'm sorry. I really am. It's not nice to lose a child. I lost two in one evening thanks to a drunk driver, for my wife to commit suicide at the grief. So you're not the only one who has experienced loss.
Please try and keep emotion and business apart. They're not normally that good together.
You're asking people to spend $1000 on something they haven't, and can't see. That's a lot of money to some of us. We aren't all rich enough to put $150k into a project and then rub it in people's faces because we have the cheek to ask what we get for our pledges.
I think you need to get together with your team, and read the actual Kickstarter campaign, and ask yourself if it is giving up all the info we need to make an educated guess as to the risks.

Hello again,
I will comment once again so we are clear.
First off "glow in the dark" ???? I'm sorry but this is not a child's toy. This is for a backpack, a car, camping trip, a hiking pack and so on. You absolutely know where this item is in your home. You know where this item is in your car, you most certainly don't need it to "glow" in your hiking pack or backpack to find it.
As for the paracord....how many people have you surveyed (that own survival gear) and asked them about a paracord bracelet or paracord grenades or paracord wrapped knives??? We have surveyed hundreds of outdoorsmens, campers, hikers and survivalists. Most all of them said the same thing about paracord..."I can only use it once, even just to check it out"...."I've never taken the cord off my knife cuz I cant put it back on"....and so on and so on.
Additionally, if paracord is wet it does not effect the performance ....paracord does not degrade when presented with moisture or dirt.
I MEAN NO DISRESPECT TO YOUR COMMENTS BUT ALLOW ME TO CONTINUE.
As for floating capabilities I would highly agree with you on that however with the design as it stands it is not possible.
Part of the reason (little inside info) is that we are developing a emergency flare launcher to be part of this and need the high strength 7075 aluminum tube.
As for our funding goal let me be very clear. WE DON'T NEED THE MONEY!
I own a successful business and funds are not the issue. Rewards are for those who believe in the product and its capabilities. For "backers" who are looking to get a "Craig's List" deal on a product...this is not for them.
We have over 600K in donated funds to the organization and our KICKSTARTER program is just to get the word out. Additionally, I have personally invested over 150K just for the research and product development. Even a well known LED manufacturer has offered a royalty to use our designed driver board. 1500+ (actual lumens) from a single LED was not available...until we designed it. My team developed pulse LED technology and have a provisional patent on it.
So, that said....again funds are not the issue.
We have sold (and delivered) 260+ units at $219 with 50+ more on the waiting list and each day that grows.
We offer a discount on the product and special items for "investors" portfolios' to show they have good intentions and were part of something from the very beginning.
Wouldn't it be amazing to have a hand signed blueprint page from the first Corvette.
Or a one of a kind custom made Maglite flashlight from 1955 with the serial number #00000004 and personally laser engraved to you.
That's what we are offering as rewards...in addition to just offering our product at a discount.
Finally, if we never sold one unit we would be OK and could sleep at night knowing that we were supposed to design and offer this product because of our late daughter.
IT WAS SOMETHING WE HAD TO DO...NOT SOMETHING WE NEEDED TO DO TO MAKE MONEY!
We have given away over 100 units to families with similar devastating situations and similar events of loosing a son, daughter, husband wife, brother or sister. It has cost us 10s of thousands of dollars....WE DONT CARE.
Until you loose you daughter you will NEVER understand.
SO...WHAT WOULD YOU SUGGEST AS BETTER REWARDS ?????

@ Creator:
Let me clarify the comments of "us" backers.
If there is someone on this planet in desperate need af any survival tool, it definitely will not be important if it has a specific color.
To find the tool in pitch black dark is important though.
This standard model is black (!!!!) Speaking about: "HAVING NO CLUE" and: "please think before commenting"
So, a Super Luminova or "Glow in the dark" spray painted housing would have been a much more logical choice.
And to "rebraid" or rewind the paracord should be the second least of that persons problems.
After a successful return to civilisation, no reasonable person would give a damn about that unraveled piece of paracord.
Wrapping paracord on the outside is not preferable, it could get wet or/and dirty, making it unusable in certain circumstances.
Another thing, does it float? Now, that's important to mention.
Sure, the content is well chosen from your point of view.
Your goal is a fantasy.
And your attitude could be better, you are the one on the money receiving side, don't you forget that!
Don't get me wrong, the idea is great, but if it is really that important for you to bring this product to life, you should reconsider your rewards to a more reasonable level.

Hello and thanks for your feedback. Alow me a moment to reply to comments.
We have done some research and have found that there is NOTHING on the market available like what we have.
Our quality is unmatched, 1500+ lumens, runs for 31 hours, Magnesium/Fanwood mix, Medical Grade Hydration tabs, 440 steel serrated knife, magnetic charger, Waterproof matches....that's just to name a few.
Look, we are not pros at Kickstart and only want to ensure that no other family looses a loved one like we did. This product could have saved our daughters life...that's all.
After production our profit is 9.42%.
This is not some cheap Maglite or something simply wrapped in paracord.....
I will simply ask you 1 of 100s of questions we needed to answer. With every other product out there once you have unraveled the braided paracord, what do you do with it????? Do you "rebraid it"...good luck with that. Shove it in your pocket and throw it away when you get home???? WHAT????
With our FLASHLIFE attachment tabs you simply rewind it back on and use it again. These are the endless questions we asked ourself and needed to solve.
How about this....do any of the other products you can think of have anti-diarrhea medication???? NO???? Well they should. Ours does, because while you may be able to to drink water from a lake or stream the problem is that Guardia Lamblia (a small parasite found in every lake and stream) causes EXTREME diarrhea. This will cause dehydration 14x faster than normal. So while the parasite won't kill you THE DIARRHEA WILL!
Yet another life threatening problem solved with THE FLASHLIFE.....
We could have easily added a micro fishing kit, that that's just fluff and BS to sell product. If you need to fish for food you're DEAD! You see, you can last 15-20 days without food. You won't last 4 days without water.
THIS ARE TRUE SURVIVAL FACTS WITH NO BS....
So while we truly do appreciate your comments and opinions, please think them through before commenting because while you think you know what your talking about.....YOU REALLY HAVE NO CLUE.
Thanks
Chocolate

I have to agree with all @Uglyscotsguy says. Really, why would I pledge for an item not represented on the project page?
Also, so many survival paracord products on Kickstarter have multi survival products within them (like packed within a paracord granade) and even just a basic paracord bracelet that has firestarter string within the paracord, fishing line within the paracord, extra string within the paracord and then the empty paracord as rope source as well. The bracelet clip with striker and ferro rod, and various items braided into the pattern of the bracelet, like fishing hook. A few of the flat packed items within the barrel could be wrapped under the paracord which in itself should service more than just a paracord.

So let me see if I have this right...
You've got a Kickstarter pledge going for a multi tooled torch.
So your reward options are a four figure sum to get the torch in a gold colour. Or every other reward is for a more basic half size torch.
All this for a torch that you don't even show details of.
You're living in a fantasy if you think this is a campaign that will attract people.
And I'm 100% positive that the current backer for one of the gold torches is a family member or founder of this pledge. Nobody in their right mind would think $1000 for a blanket, a torch and some matches was a good idea.

Although the idea is great, I can't shake of the impression that your goal is way too high.
I have seen far more complicated designs/products her on Kickstarter that came to life with a more realistic goal.
Keep in mind that a high goal could discourage some backers.
Nevertheless, I wish you a lot of success.
