Congratulations! I cannot wait for the film to come out.. it is wonderful indeed that you are making this film. One of my grandmothers came from Poland to the United States at the beginning of WWII -- and she loved to cook, in fact she opened up a luncheonette in New Jersey and served food from her native Poland!

      Blessings and best,

Alexa, your grandmother should be proud of you. I am proud of you and we're not even related. I'm a Jewish grandfather, lost my grandparents in the concentration camp and never met them. This is a very wonderful project. Full of heart and hope for a generation lost and now your generation to come. May this film be blessed. Happy to be a small backer.

    14. Aaron Gelb on September 29, 2011

PS - My grandmother is a WWII survivor, too, and I hope that this film makes it to print so she can see it.

    15. Aaron Gelb on September 29, 2011

This is the FIRST kickstarter project I've backed.
Good for you for making this film. People like your Oma and her friend Bella need to be recorded for generations to come. There's a little bit of everyone's "bube" in Oma and Bella, and for that thank you!

      L'shanah Tova!

Alexa -- this film is simply FABULOUS!!!! My sister Isabel (sometimes called Bella!) and I grew up in Germany and we also had a grandmother who loved making Eastern European food, cookies etc.

Anyway, all this to say ... we are going to send some targeted emails out to friends, colleagues etc ... to help you raise more money. Could you send us your email address so that we can send a more personal email.... no obligation at all on your side, but it makes an email just more personal.

      Carolin Greiner: cgreiner2@hotmail.com
      Isabel Greiner: isabel.greiner@gmail.com

Many thanks -- also for the credits ... could you make it Carolin and Isabel Greiner .. instead of just Carolin.

      Good luck!!!!
      Carolin
