We have found a great location to install the Little Free Library and a fantastic host who will take care of it as a Steward. It will be installed in a residential front garden on Red Lion Lane, London SE18.
The Little Free Library will be artfully decorated by a wonderful local artist and will be installed this summer for the whole community to enjoy sharing books.
We are a non-profit organisation that build and install artist designed Little Free Libraries to promote reading, literacy and art in the UK. We do this with the support of the local communities in which our Little Free Libraries are hosted.
Before and after installation we will promote the project by engaging with as many people in the community as possible, including schools, libraries and community groups, so that everyone knows how they can get involved.
The concept behind the Little Free Library Project is simple:
"Take a book, return a book or donate a book."
Its a free book sharing venue for the community to share their love of reading. You can find out more about our other projects on our website: www.littlefreelibraryproject.org.uk
Risks and challenges
We have found a fantastic host site on Red Lion Lane and a host who will steward the Little Free Library.
We will be looking to work with a local artist to add a unique themed design to the Little Free Library. If you are an artist and you'd like to get involved please contact us: firstname.lastname@example.org.
We've built lots of Little Free Libraries which have been installed in locations across London, so we have lots of experience and we're confident the project will be a success.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
