About
“And it came to pass in those days, as it had come before and would come again, that the Dark lay heavy on the land and weighed down the hearts of men…, and men cried to the Creator, saying, O Light of the Heavens, Light of the World, let the Promised One be born of the mountain, according to the prophesies, as he was in ages past and will be in ages to come…. Let the arm of the Lord of the Dawn shelter us from the Dark and the great sword justice defend us. Let the Dragon ride again on the winds of time."
We are Red Eagle Games, a group of dedicated Jordan fans, passionate indie gamers developing interactive entertainment based on Robert Jordan’s The Wheel of Time. After much anticipation and with your help, Red Eagle Games will launch ‘official’ and exclusive digital interactive mobile and social media games.
The Wheel of Time, the critically acclaimed fantasy epic by six time #1 New York Times Best Selling author Robert Jordan, spans more than 10,000 pages in 13 novels with over 2,000 characters and is translated into over 25 languages. This epic story is about to unfold on the entertainment scene worldwide. The 14th and final novel in the series, A Memory of Light, completed by highly celebrated author Brandon Sanderson, is scheduled for release on January 8th, 2013 by TOR Books. Universal Pictures is in development on a major motion picture based on the first book, the Eye of the World.
The New York Times: “Jordan has come to dominate the world that Tolkien began to reveal.”
In his epic tale of good and evil, Robert Jordan weaves a tapestry of 3000 years of history providing us with grand events and great heroes that shaped the fate of the world and cycles of time that give rise to the characters and nations populating his novels. As part of his grand tale, Jordan shares a glimpse of the Age of Legends describing the archeological remnants and mythology of a culture destroyed by human frailties. The fingerprints of this culture are richly detailed in the architectural artifacts, tools and cultural memories of the peoples in this epic world. Our game path will take us back thru the formative events of the Wheel of Time to this Age of Legends.
As Jordan fans, all of us have waited years to see these stories brought to the video game environment without the undue influence of mega game studios. After years of work, we have chosen the indie path of development to maintain creative control. Our search for capable, true fan, game developers, who share our passion for The Wheel of Time, led the team to Las Vegas-based Jet Set Games. Founded in 2008 by Brett Sperry and Rade Stojsavljevic, rabid Jordan fans, helped define real-time strategy gameplay at Westwood Studios and EA with favorites like the Command & Conquer series, Blade Runner and Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth.Recent work includes Highborn, the critically acclaimed turn-based strategy game for iOS and Android.
Your input will help guide our course thru the places and experiences of The Wheel of Time. There is no limit to the number of games or direction our development will take. Our collective vision for digital entertainment will carry the The Wheel of Time all the way to the Age of Legends and the Core AAA games many fans hope to see. Like all really good things however, our story needs a strong beginning. Together we will create a future that includes all of your most wished for places and times including titles like The White Tower: Book of Novices, a social game of channeling, weaving and sharing, The Colonization of Seanchan, 100 Years of Kings, and The Trolloc Wars . These titles are all in the design stage. Help us take our first step into this legacy by answering the Call of the King and diving into the Aiel War.
This Kickstarter project will deliver Game One of the Aiel War. Designed as a tactical RPG for mobile platforms with a social component, it will...well, here is a brief description but to say more will spoil the surprise.
“Twenty years ago, an enigmatic warrior people from the desolate eastern wastelands sent a great force west across the mountains known as the Dragonwall beginning three years of blood soaked chaos. So began the Aiel War, a conflict that saw the birth of the Dragon and the legends that would shape events for a new age. The early days of that war were marked by a great siege, a battle that saw the destruction of Cairhien, capital of one of the world's greatest nations. This is the story of those desperate days, and of the heroes of the First Banner of the Rising Sun; a ragtag unit of old soldiers and stable boys pressed to defend the people of Cairhien, city and nation, from the onslaught of the savage Aielmen.
Take command of the soldiers and heroes in First Banner of the Rising Sun and lead them into battle against an army made up of the greatest warriors in the world. Follow the exploits of the Banner as they grow from a motley assortment of ruffians to one of the most highly honored units of the Aiel War.”

Rob Alexander brings his artistic vision to the Aiel War!
One of our most important components of the REG games approach will be the visual world of The Wheel of Time. Our approach to this series of games is based on a significant quality of art and strength of story. Robert Jordan gave us the literary platform and now we can bring the community a visual realization of the world we share. Welcome Rob Alexander.

Chesley Award winner, Rob Alexander brings his skills to the REG effort as visual consultant for the Aiel War projects. An artistic leader in the creation of game worlds, he contributed to products like Magic: The Gathering, Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter. He is currently developing the artistic design for the Aiel War silo of games by creating the image file and game poster. Also in design is the first collection of in-game badges including the “Ta'veren Emblem”, offered to Drivers of the Rewards Program. His selected gallery of art, we feel, best represents our vision of the world the REG team will create for the Aiel War games. In future updates, we will include over the shoulder interviews with Rob from his studio showing the development of the images.

His third video talks about Cairhien and the beginning of his Aiel War images.
Update 4: Eoin Harrington joins the Red Eagle team
Music is a critical component of the game/story experience. When Red Eagle started working on this element of the project we were looking for a musician/composer who could bring fresh, eclectic and global experience to the project. This interview was taken in his living room this week. Have a listen and check out his links to other music on YouTube. His is an interesting and diverse sound.
Eoin plays and shares his feelings about the music.
We want to thank Eoin Harrington for creating our initial acoustic signature for the Aiel War and WoT fan and web designer Andrew Costello, from the UK, for contributing "The Wheel of Time" graphic for our starting image. Additional credits can be found in our bios.
