The Outerweb - And the Women against the Robots
The Outerweb is the next phase of the internet, where digital information is getting connected to the physical and even biological world around us. We are creating a world in which everything on Earth, from people to computers and from objects to living cells or even animals, will become connected.
From hooverboards to telepathic helmets, from wireless electricity to remote controlled insects and from 3D printed organs to sentient robots, digital information is 'breaking out' of our computer screens and smartphone apps into the real world.
We are however building The Outerweb in a moral vacuum in a highly individualized world. That makes this technological evolution both truly fantastic and deeply frightening at the same time. The research question of the book is therefore:
How are we going to survive all of this new technology?
To find the answer, the book has become a roller coaster ride in which we talk about hackers, politics and the deep sea environment, new ways of thinking about generations, the bizarre way our brain works, women becoming amazones and men behaving like chiwawa's...
...I'm taking you through personal experiences such as hurricanes, gigantic protests and even a terrorist attack. From Homerus and Homer Simpson, I really have left no stone unturned. And to top it all off, the rhythm of the book is that of a three part classical symphony, with the lead role being performed by women in general.
Because therein lies the answer. To give you a hint of the outcome, I have found that in order to survive The Outerweb, the human race will have to move out of the individual age and build a new, more feminine ladder on the pyramid of Maslow called reciprocity.
The hint is in the cover ;)
Thank you for reading and backing this project. Without your help I would never be able to do this!
Ciao and all the best,

Risks and challenges
By buying one or more books, you make it possible for me to independently publish the book in August in The Netherlands and in October of 2015 internationally.
Since I have written and edited a total of six books before this one with a publisher, I know that without this independence it would have never been possible to write a good enough book on such a big subject like the future of the internet - The Outerweb - and how we are supposed to handle this future.
The writing of the book is finished, including the edit, so I don't expect much, if any, delays.
I'm an experienced, bestselling and award winning writer (and well known speaker) in The Netherlands. Going for an English version release is therefore relatively risk-free in terms of success.
By only asking for a 100 books, I can guarantee a good supply of printed books in Dutch in August and English in October for all my backers.
In terms of PR: I am backed by the leading tech PR agency in Amsterdam (MCPR) where I also have a desk. I'm therefore always in direct contact.
This is a great project and my heart is totally in it! So back me up and I will return with the greatest content I can give you!
Ciao and thank you,
