Ten terrifying days of tantalizing performance return to the Southern with theater, dance, music, and storytelling. Oct. 31 - Nov. 9.

Thanks for all your support! We've passed our goal, but as long as we keep getting donations we'll keep adding content to the festival. We're adding a "stretch goal" of $9500 to the Kickstarter for a bonus Midnight Movie Showing!
*********

The Twin Cities Horror Festival returns to its old haunt at the Southern Theater for ten days this fall. Following its successful initiation in 2012, the festival once again sets the stage for seven accomplished local performance groups to present seven new works exploring the theme of horror through theater, music, dance, and storytelling. More than 30 performances will take place over two weekends with a bonus Recycle-Your-Halloween-Costume party the night of Friday, November 8th.

Festival works will include Spooky Town by Ferrari McSpeedy, The Murderer Did It! by Four Humors, Trust and Obey by Ghoulish Delights, Tainted Love by Erin Sheppard Presents, Hear No Evil by RawRedMeat Productions, Edgar Allan by The Coldharts, and the family-friendly play The Harty Boys in the Mystery of the Mall of America... of Death by Comedy Suitcase.

Once this Kickstarter is successfully completed, regular priced tickets will go on sale October 5th online. Unlimited Festival Passes will go up in price at that time, so reserve your discounted pass today!

(Full performance schedule by date is located at the bottom.)

Risks and challenges Learn about accountability on Kickstarter

Any festival operation contains a great deal of risk: logistical, artistic, and certainly promotional. Much of the challenge once the project is on board is successfully mounting all 7 shows at one venue in just 3 days.

These challenges will be overseen by a committed group of individuals who, in building the festival from scratch last year, learned a lot 2012 with the first horror festival.

Since each artist is responsible for creating their own work, much of the first three days of setting up the festival will involve integrating their piece into the space of the Southern Theater, setting light looks, getting sound working just right, and ensuring that the piece functions as an entertaining piece of art.

Simultaneously will be all the work in setting up the front of house, that first experience the audience has when walking in the door is crucial to their opinion of the evening. Keeping the flow moving correctly, fast and efficient ticket support, information readily available, all of these elements will be worked out in those few days leading up to opening night.
