The Brothers MacRae are hard at work on our first album. We've been gigging hard over the last year to raise funds, but we need your support to make sure we cover all the costs.
There are a lot of ways to finance an album and we decided Kickstarter was the perfect platform for us to release the project. In a lot of ways it's like a pre-sale campaign but we like to think of it as a community of our friends, family and fans pulling together around the project to help make it a reality.
We're offering a variety of reward packages for different levels of contributions to the campaign. All funds raised will go toward the cost of production, studio time, mixing and mastering, graphic design costs, CD pressing and CD packaging.
The final product will be a professionally-produced album of 11 original songs. We tracked everything at Backbone Audio (Whitney Point, NY) and have teamed up with Chris Merkley, of Old Boy Records, to produce the album. It's being mixed by Kyle Paas of The Facility Recording Studio (NYC). It will be available in both physical form (compact disc) and digital download. We're also working with a graphic designer to ensure the album looks as good as it will sound.
Once the album is finished, we'll be hosting an album release party at the 1890 House in Cortland on Friday, December 5th to celebrate the completion of the project. Tickets to the party are included in many of the reward packages and we priced everything exclusively for the Kickstarter campaign as a thank you to everyone who contributes.
With Kickstarter projects, you don't receive any of the funding unless you reach your goal. Please consider one of the reward packages on the right side of the page to help us hit the mark before the deadline.
Thank you for the support. It means the world to us and we couldn't be more excited about the release of our debut album.
