The Wrath of Cichol is the first episodic release for Creatures of the Night.
Creatures of the Night is a fantasy miniature range (and perhaps, in the future, a game) designed by Krakon Games. Each chapter explores a period from the Lebor Gabála Érenn (Book of Invasions) - an Irish histro-mythology exploring the various races to inhabit and invade ancient Eriu (Ireland).
Chapter 1: The Wrath of Cichol introduces both the Fomorian adversaries and one of the first invaders - Partholón.
By backing this project you will help fund the production of Krakon Games' first fantasy range and be "rewarded" with your chosen models.
All models will be cast in resin and supplied without bases. Most are multi-part models that require a little cleaning and assembly.
There are 8 large character models available at project launch, with a list of stretch goals that will unlock as funding levels increase. If there's something on the stretch goal list you would like, feel free to include it in your pledge total to help unlock it.
All black bases shown are 50mm diameter. The models average around 40mm to their eyes. Here's the starting line-up and a couple of stretch goals in development:
The cost of shipping is not included in your pledge. This will be asked for outside of Kickstarter once your pledge is ready to be sent. Postage costs will be no more than the below. Some models will fit in "large letter" packages and so may be cheaper:
- UK: £4. Free for pledges over £75
- Europe: £7. Free for pledges over £150
- North America: £10. Free for pledges over £200
- Rest of World £12. Free for orders over £250
Ross Whitehorn is the owner and primary sculptor of Krakon Games. All models were sculpted by Ross unless listed otherwise.
Diego Serrate sculpted Indech and part-sculpted Conand with Ross Whitehorn.
Allan Carrasco sculpted Tuan-Angel and part-sculpted Tuan-Faoladh with Ross Whitehorn.
Some (Tuan-Angel, Indech) of these models were originally the property of Troll Outpost. Krakon Games purchased the stock and masters with rights to produce these particular models in 2016. They did not come with moulds, so this Kickstarter is funding the casting of them in addition to presenting brand-new models not yet available from Krakon Games.
Risks and challenges
This will be Krakon Games' 5th Kickstarter. We got this far by running 4 successful Kickstarters before and so we are confident that if this project is funded, we will continue to deliver on time and with satisfaction once again.
We stand by some simple rules. All models on offer at project launch (ie not "stretch goals") are either completely finished or have less than a day's work to be considered so. Stretch goals are lined up from other started or near-complete models. The small waiting period between project launch, conclusion and funds transfer is reserved to complete them.
This means all models are done by the time money transfers to Krakon Games and the process of casting can begin.
COTN:WoC is a little different to our 4 previous Kickstarters in that some models have already been put into moulds for mastering. We want to reduce the amount of time between project funding and fulfilment, so have chosen to invest some money into creating master moulds up front. This Kickstarter will fund production moulds and any potential stretch goal models that haven't been mastered yet. Previous projects have all had 6 month fulfilment targets. We want to halve that or better in future!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
