A fantasy RPG game for iOS and Android. The game changes according to the player's choices, abilities and the roll of the dice.

The Dungeon Guild is a multiplayer game being developed for iOS and Android. A prototype has already been developed and demoed to a small audience; it has generated excitement by those who have played. You can register for a free account at https://www.thedungeonguild.com/ and play the free demo once you create a character.
At Rorschach Games, we are fans of the classic RPG genres where we assume the role of a character. We want to recreate the experience of when the only things we used were a set of rule books, pencil, paper and our imaginations. All a player needs to do is to create an account and they will be able to play with their character on iOS and Android.
While these concepts of RPGs have been reproduced many times over the years, we want to create a truly dynamic game. The platform we have built will allow a person to play different adventure "modules" and join their friends/fellow gamers in a networked environment to share the party experience.
Your player's actions will dictate actual results in the game. Do good deeds, you will become popular as your fame grows. However, if you do evil, your character may grow to be feared as he/she becomes more powerful. We want our game to be a truly dynamic system.
The Dungeon Guild is aimed at people who play RPGs the traditional way. Whether you enjoy the camaraderie of joining a group of people/friends and sharing a fantasy world experience or going on one-shot adventures. We are planning this for you.
We grew up playing RPG games. Dungeons & Dragons, MERP, and Star Frontiers were some of our favorites. We hope to capture the fun that we have always experienced when we got together with our friends.
Replay-ability and versatility is incredibly important to us. If you play the Beginner's game as an Evil Wizard, you will have a completely different experience if you decide to play as a Warrior who wishes to fight for Good!
The main component of The Dungeon Guild is the Player Character. You "roll" for the abilities and choose their profession. If you choose evil actions your player will adopt an evil alignment. The way you play your character (Good or Evil) will be what determines the path to fame or infamy. This affects the spells and weapons they will be able to use. Such as having a Cleric who does "Good" will be able to cast "Bless", but an evil Cleric will only be able to cast "Curse". These are the nuances we want to achieve, and thus change how the story plays out for you and your friends.
The Character Classes:
- Warrior: A fighter! Able to use various weapons and quickly gain proficiency.
- Wizard: Highly intelligent. Able to cast powerful spells but not very strong physically.
- Thief: A brigand who possesses skills to sneak and gain access to treasures.
- Cleric: The fighting priest whose deity grants him/her special magical abilities.
- Ranger: Rugged fighter adept at living off the land.
- Druid: A priest with magical abilities who is at one with nature.

Choosing Your Path
Your character class and race provides the basis for your general traits and abilities, but choosing one is only the beginning — the more you play, the more abilities you’ll be able to unlock.
As mentioned earlier, a player's actions will determine which spells and abilities are available for use during the game.
Now, an important caveat: You cannot undo any actions. A bad decision, will stay with your character, but just like real life, you can work to right a wrong that you may have made. There's no do over. If you die, you die. Unless you're lucky to be friends with a powerful Cleric with a Resurrection spell. If not, you will then be able to create a new character and embark on a whole new adventure.
There is an introduction adventure when you first create your character. This is used to gather equipment, learn spells and allows new players to learn the various game play modes.
Experienced players can use the individual adventure mode to reequip themselves, learn new spells and meet up with new players who may complete a need in their party. They will be able to communicate using voice chat. Everyone in their party will have access to this feature but it is not required to be used.
We have the base world created and know that we can make it more dynamic and open. We're looking to add hours of game play all driven by our unique game sentiment engine. No two games will be exactly alike.
Player Scaling and Progression
Each player character, who wishes to join a party, will be introduced into play with others who are approximately the same level and power. Players can form their own parties with friends who they invite as well.
This game will not end when this adventure is completed. We are looking to develop various "modules". Some will be geared towards multiple players and others can be played as a solo adventure. Micro-transactions will drive future projects that will be a continuation of game play. You will be able to re-use the character that you had leveled up without losing any equipment or riches.
The Dungeon Guild is wondrous world of magic and enchanted beings. Many brave souls have gone out into this place in search of adventure, fame and fortune. Some have risen to great heights, but many more have never been seen again.
As a player in this magical land, you possess traits that others consider extraordinary. However you are untested and lack experience to make your mark on the world. Go out and make a name for yourself.
WHAT ARE WE TRYING TO DO:
We are looking to raise funds to hire programmers, artists and writers to complete our story in an 8-month time frame. Along with the labor needed, assets and software subscriptions must be obtained and created.
The Dungeon Guild is a multi-player game and we'll need to pay for server space to persist data and to enable networking capabilities for real-time chat. The rewards offered for contributing to this project will be yours and yours only and cannot be lost at any time.
We also envision a VR version in the future. It all starts here!
If we are able to surpass our funding goal, our main goal will be to enhance the campaign mode with more substantial content. We would like to create more "modules" and fine tune our game engine to create a truly dynamic experience where no two people will have the exact experience playing the game.
Additional funds would also allow us to create a more robust multiplayer experience. In particular, it would allow us to create a lot more skins, spells, magic items, races and classes.
WHO ARE WE:
We are Rorschach Games, LLC. and have been developing software for 20 years. We are a small company but we have been building 3D applications ever since we came into existence. We are based in the New York Metropolitan area.
Risks and challenges
Our work on extending the current functionality will commence immediately but will need about a month to ramp up with the necessary personnel.
The big challenge with game development, as always, is time. We believe it’s very important to set measured goals and do everything in our power to reach them. But unexpected obstacles can happen, and the timeline can slip. Due the length of the proposed implementation of the "Dynamic" storylines, this is a possibility in our development process. For that reason, we have allotted some cushion to our budget for unanticipated issues.
Fortunately, we have been developing software for almost 20 years and have developed a strong sense of development discipline. If disruptions in the development do happen, we believe in being very open an honest communicators, keeping our backers up-to-date with everything.
