Barbaric Splendor Kickstarter Two: Ophidian Menace
Barbaric Splendor Miniatures expands to offer the ophidian menace of serpentmen!
Barbaric Splendor Kickstarter Two: Ophidian Menace offers serpentman warriors for your wargame, skirmish game, RPG, or simply to paint and collect. These miniatures are not new - they are already sculpted and molds are already made. They were sculpted by Nicolas Genovese of Blood Moon Miniatures, who has made a special offer to Barbaric Splendor Miniatures. This Kickstarter will, if successful, fund this purchase and casting of the required amount of miniatures. I am offering the miniatures at a reduced price from their planned retail price to help facilitate this process. This will be a short Kickstarter, with the only goal to add these miniatures to the Barbaric Splendor line. If need be, I do have a stretch goal planned, but do not wish to make this a complicated project so it will not grow beyond that.
These will be the start of an extensive line of serpentmen - both the serpentmen, who have human bodies and legs with snake heads (much like those in the fiction of Robert E Howard) and the primeval serpentmen who have snake bodies and human torsos with snake heads.
Miniatures require assembly - the Primeval Serpentmen will require a little more effort than the usual as they are multi-part miniatures.

Shipping fees will be collected at time of fulfillment. Barring a price rise from the USPS, fees should be around $4 to the USA and $14 elsewhere, more for larger pledges.
I have decided to offer solo choices and add-ons to try and get this project funded. There is now a pledge option for solo choices - you may adjust to account for however many of these you would like.
The first was already planned and has a sculptor lined up (David Soderquist of Bronze Age Miniatures) - the Serpentman Champion! Concept sketch by Brian Brinlee; color version to come.
The second is Thorn, a featured character in the sword and sorcery fiction of Howie Bentley and the title character in his tale, "The Snake-Man's Bane". This miniature is going to be produced and available at retail before this Kickstarter delivers, but I will offer it here at a reduced Kickstarter price to hopefully get us closer to fulfillment.
Serpentman Champion; $7
Thorn, the Snake-Man's Bane; $7
These are offered from the existing Barbaric Splendor Miniatures line and must be added to an existing pledge for the serpentmen sets or solo choices. All are $7 each; please adjust your pledge accordingly. Final selections will be made during the pledge manager.

Risks and challenges
My first Kickstarter successfully funded, but after some initial delays (frankly due to mistakes in planning and estimating on my part) I then encountered problems with physical health, mental health, and financial health - each exacerbating the other costing me almost everything. I overcame these issues, after what I agree was still an unacceptable time frame, and through hard work was able to fulfill the Kickstarter despite such setbacks. All orders that have been placed with the new webstore have also been fulfilled promptly. The issues that led to the delays and my absence from the miniatures community are either obviated or mitigated; even were they to recur I have a solid plan and support system to deal with them.
My initial plan for Barbaric Splendor Miniatures was to rebuild reputation and trust through normal releases, with no pre-orders or further Kickstarters for some time at least - but this offer is too good to not at least attempt to try and make happen, both for the business and those who love the themes of barbaric fiction and gaming. So I am going ahead with this to try and make it happen, as all product is already molded and just needs to be ordered for casting. I am estimating a longer delivery time than I anticipate to avoid further issues with that as well - if there is a stretch goal it might push things closer to that estimated time but otherwise I should be able to order castings within a few weeks of the end of the Kickstarter.
