To all of my Backers
We’re back in business! November 18, 2011: What a day for me, my family and Liamolly. I am truly humbled at the outpouring of generosity and support. We hit the funding goal, but it’s so much more than a number. This campaign has spawned new opportunities for Liamolly beyond my wildest dreams. Thanks to Kickstarter and all of you, I have the down payment for my first knitting machine to be installed right here in New Orleans, and I’m back in business! But beyond that, the buzz the campaign created has opened doors to new relationships and resources, all instrumental to rebuilding and growing our business. For one, I now have a deeply experienced and committed management team to complement my design skills and work with me to map our path forward. I am in that weird place between feeling ecstatic and overwhelmed. But it’s all good!It has been energizing to take these few moments to reflect and express my gratitude, but mostly I am eager to get back to work. With all of you behind me! What a great feeling. This funding will be leveraged for much bigger things, a huge step forward in realizing the Liamolly vision. I encourage all of my backers, customers and followers to stay tuned. More big news is on the way. When I arrived in New Orleans in 2008 with my husband, Sid, and this crazy idea, I knew I had to brace myself for the unexpected twists and turns of entrepreneurship. This “magic place” called and embraced me, while deep in its own self-discovery and hopes for renewal. We both put ourselves out there, and the world responded.New Orleans and Liamolly are now joined at the hip! My knits will be produced right here in the USA. And we’ll produce for all the local talent we can find, giving them the means to express their own creations and entrepreneurial spirit. A fashion hub right here in New Orleans? Not so crazy.Look for our new creations in neighborhood boutiques and on our website. Stay with us on Facebook and Twitter, and keep spreading the word. It’s just the beginning: a new and exciting one. With Deep Appreciation,Seema Sudan
