About this project
Check out our tech showcase!
Universe Rush is an intense MMO-strategy game that combines space battles, console-level graphics, and long-term strategic multiplayer in an evolving environment. Our current plan is to design Universe Rush for tablets, inviting gamers to participate in our growing universe. Mobile platforms, we believe, are the perfect conduits for the next generation of immersive experiences.
The Homeworld franchise’s stylish approach to battles and environments serves as the foundation and starting point for our vision. We are all avid Homeworld and Relic fans. We aim to bring back some of unique moments and go further. The multiplayer aspect of Universe Rush is closely tied to a browser-based sci-fi strategy game called O-Game. Combining these two foundations, we’ve woven complex and accessible gameplay with a beautiful world aesthetic. We now need your help to finalize it.
Universe Rush Key Features
Build a combat fleet & dominate
Strategically assemble fleets of warships and use them to outmaneuver, outwit, and outgun your opponent. Offering a wide range of combat ships, defense structures, and customization choices, you must think carefully about your fleet structure. Starting parameters will determine the outcome of each battle.
Challenge your foes in battle regardless of time
You will be battling real foes with your fleets. Once a fleet is built, attack an opponent of your choosing regardless whether they are online in a spectacular battle.
Besides epic battles the game revolves around an interstellar economy. In addition to standard resource management, we plan to introduce resource trading post-launch.
Deep and beautiful environment
We are pushing hardware limitations to their limits to create a visually stunning world. We've designed the environment to grow with your progress.
Once we have reached our minimum goal, we will plan feature implementation by vote. If we exceed the goal we will have the ability to include more!
Who is Behind Universe Rush?
We're an independent studio formed by experienced, enthusiastic Unity-developers located in United States and Ukraine. United by our ambition we've been collaborating for the past year and have had incredible results - including a fully functional build of what promises to be a groundbreaking advancement in cross-platform gaming. Kercus Holding is our legal entity. This group is comprised of tech enthusiasts already partnered with us on Universe Rush.
Can You Get the Job Done?
The current build speaks for itself. This is what we’ve done without raising funds in less than a year. We believe this is the best proof that we can get the job done well - and on time. We're fully engaged in the project, understand its complexity, and most importantly, we're driven to succeed.
What about publishers?
A publisher would help us fund and market the finished game, and we have open conversations with several perfect fits. And this is the obvious next step. The trouble for us is taking on a business-first partner may not help us realize the dream. Furthermore, it means spending worktime constantly “selling” the game’s merits to non-gamers, who may not understand or appreciate the genre. In a perfect scenario we would work with the community to develop the best game possible and then if necessary seek a partner to show it to the masses.
Risks and challenges
Our primary risk is lack of steady financing. We're polishing and content creating, which means increased expenses. This is where you come in. With your pledge, you’ll help make the campaign successful, completely remove this risk, and give us the ability to fully achieve the vision for Universe Rush.
Our secondary risk is deadlines. According to our estimates, we will need six months before we're ready to release. However, the hardest part is behind us, and we are hardworking, determined, flexible, and well-coordinated. We not only know how to set realistic deadlines, but we know how to pool our resources and work hard until we meet them.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
