A prototype is a preliminary model of something. Projects that offer physical products need to show backers documentation of a working prototype. This gallery features photos, videos, and other visual documentation that will give backers a sense of what’s been accomplished so far and what’s left to do. Though the development process can vary for each project, these are the stages we typically see:
Proof of Concept
Explorations that test ideas and functionality.
Demonstrates the functionality of the final product, but looks different.
Looks like the final product, but is not functional.
Appearance and function match the final product, but is made with different manufacturing methods.
Appearance, function, and manufacturing methods match the final product.
We all love the sound of a big line array speaker system with the thumping bass and crisp-clear sound, and any guitarist will tell you that the right amplifier will make your instrument sing. The fact is that good sound setup can be a tedious process, with many boxes to lug and cords to be sorted etc. RockDolly solves this without sacrificing your tone.
How does it work?
The RockDolly sets up a wifi network and connects to your phone through an app that gives you the equivalent of a professional mixing board on your phone. Separate state of the art ultra-high-frequency digital wireless allows your mic, guitar, violin, keyboard, etc. to become wireless without losing any of it's tone. An onboard, 475w amplifier powers a 3-way speaker system that uses a 15" subwoofer, a 6" midbass speaker, and a high-frequency bi-radial horn mounted above the heads of the crowd to deliver near-perfect sound reproduction.
Gig set-up is a hassle. If you are a DJ, a band, or traveling performer-you need a RockDolly. The RockDolly combines your speakers, mixer, amplifiers, and wireless gear into one easily portable unit. With just one cord to plug in, your band can be playing in minutes. An app gives you full control over 12 or 18 channels with digital effects and the optional wireless microphones and wireless 1/4" instrument inputs make setup that much easier.
The RockDolly uses a unique 3-way speaker system designed to offer near-perfect sound reproduction. So no matter what instrument or audio you play through it: guitar, bass, theramin, keyboard-anything! Your RockDolly will make it sound amazing! Compatible with everything from smartphones to violins to laptops, the RockDolly lets musicians focus on delivering a great performance.
The RockDolly can work with your existing gear, but you may find yourself bringing only the RockDolly with you to a gig. The simple setup and incredible mixing options allow you to leave most of that truckload of gear at home, and you can direct-in to any of your channels from your instrument, no matter if you are a singer, a violinist, or a guitarist with a pedal board.
The three boxes of the RockDolly stack and lock together for convenient transport. Just grab the RockDolly by the handles and roll in like a boss! Your whole band can play through the RockDolly and sound great, imagine the possibilities for performances and live street shows!
Not only can you get your logo on the RockDolly, but with over 30 covering options, we are sure to have a unit that matches your vibe! For road warriors, we can coat your RockDolly in white, red, or black tolex, or even stage carpet. The standard vinyl coating comes in 30 colors and several prints are available-including black and gray carbon fiber, camouflage, metallic, and high definition printing available as custom vinyl options.
The RockDolly was created with the main goal of eliminating cumbersome setup issues. Dirty, tangled, shorted-out cords are by far the worst feature of being a musician. The RockDolly lets you leave them where they belong-in the past with rotary phones and haberdasheries. Add wireless microphones, instrument inputs, or in-ear monitors to your RockDolly and enjoy hassle free setup every time.
Big Sound, Small Footprint
The RockDolly was designed to be as loud as possible, and take up as little space as possible. The bass bin (the larger, bottom cabinet) is designed to fit in the trunk of your car. Just stack and lock the cabinets together when you arrive and you are ready to go!
Made in the USA
By backing this project, you are supporting hard working carpenters and circuit-builders in the United States. We are proud to manufacture our own products and we are dedicated to creating the very best product for our customers.
For the Sound Buffs:
The RockDolly has fixed crossover points at 500 Hz, and 3.5 kHz. A graphic eq, and simulated rack effects on each channel allow you to hone your sound like you would on a studio mixing board, but without the hassle of actually setting it up. The RockDolly's stereo house outputs allow you to direct-in your mix to a house system, so you can cut out a big chunk of your normal soundcheck time.
Currently, RockDolly is prevented from shipping internationally due to electronics compatibility concerns, and unpredictable shipping fees for our relatively large product. We know that you want a RockDolly too and after this campaign is successful, we plan to scale up so that we can offer you a RockDolly too! Please grab a t-shirt or a badge and plans, and we will work really hard to bring you the RockDolly soon!
Risks and challenges
The product is reliably built and shipped for the amount suggested and can be assembled by the project creator and his team, and delivered by the time suggested. As a former financial manager, the project creator has planned extensively for this project and expects no insurmountable hurdles to interfere with the projected delivery dates. If a problem should present itself, the creator will notify backers and will deal with any issues honestly.
Think of it as your hand slapping my back for trying to manufacture in my hometown and pay my team well. Building something right here rather than shipping those jobs to someone else. I hope we are friends if you are reading this, and a good friend will give you a high five. Maybe on your back as you are leaving and they wish you well, maybe across the face when you need a wake-up call, and maybe to celebrate something awesome. I think the RockDolly is awesome, and with your $5.00, I will make it more awesome. I promise. I will deliver pictures!

Own the first prototype. It is big and heavy, and mostly cobbled together from 80s electronics. You need a truck to haul it around. This is for that person who really loves what we are doing and wants to own the first swing that we took at a working prototype.
We will work with you to create a custom RockDolly for your needs, within reason and subject to the our veto. These customized Model 1 units will have 8 wireless inputs configured per your request. We expect them to be VERY cool.
