Calling out to all Dreamers, Visionaries, and World Changers to PLAY THE TRUTH from the highest mountain!
The story...Change happens when passionate people step boldly forward and walk in right action. John Mower and I, Clint McCune, are about to embark on a pilgrimage to the highest mountain, to inspire a nation, and the world, through music. Our message is one of hope and responsible stewardship of this planet we call home. March begins the7 Summits Foundation’s "Stop Global Warming" concert tour, along the Mt. Everest Base Camp Trail, shining a light on the effects of climate change to Mama Everest. Our 17-day trek starts in Kathmandu where we will join six other musicians from Nepal. We will be making stops in places like Namche Bazaar and Thangboche Monastery to play for student groups, families, and communities. As a musician, I will get the opportunity to do what I do best, connect with the Nepalese people by sharing stories and music. Breaking the record for the highest altitude performance we will build a stage with the Sherpas at the Base Camp of Everest, at 17,590 feet, and play a concert which will highlight the tour. The final concert of the tour will be in Kathmandu as we celebrate and connect with policy makers to inspire change.
Where the story becomes our story...In preparation for this tour, we have put together a portable solar-powered recording studio that can fit in our packs. Our goal is to record all performances, and any moment that reflects the heart of this trek, through audio and HD video. When we return home, our production team will be reviewing hundreds of hours of recordings to select the music and stories to produce the album, ‘PLAY THE TRUTH’. This album will be the vehicle in which to harness the momentum gained in Nepal, and continue to make positive change through music and celebration. This is where the story becomes our story. To successfully launch the album we are asking you to support this project through your sponsorship. Kickstarter is a revolutionary grassroots fundraising tool that makes participation in this project easy and effective.
How to use Kickstarter...1. Pledge the amount that you wish knowing that we fully appreciate and value your contribution. The rewards to the right of this paragraph are just one way we can reciprocate for your involvement in this project. 2.Make the face-to-face connection with 10 people about this project who it would resonate with. Whether it is over a cup of coffee, or letting your parents know there is someone out there who will go to Nepal for you, the honesty about your passion for change is vital to what we are trying to accomplish. 3. Pass this link on to your social network. Like it on Facebook, Tweet it on Twitter, and post on your E-Groups. The story will evolve as the trek happens, stay in touch by updates via footage sent back through Facebook and Kickstarter. This is a great way to send the message far and wide; it is the connection to the global village
$10,000 is our goal!By choosing an all or nothing way of fundraising, we crafted our plan to use every penny to it’s full potential. This matches what we have already put into the project and will catapult it into success. This is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity that has the potential to create real change. We know that the money you invest in this project is a part of the hopes and dreams you hold for our world; that’s what makes us a community.
Thank you for shining your light and helping us shine ours!
