About this project
The goal has been reached, and you can still contribute to receive fun incentives and support Apothocurious and Hot Bike!
A fun little video from the 19th St. Throw Down!
Apothocurious and Hot Bike! bandanas (locally sewn and printed), Apothocurious hummus, a date for two (or three) on a sailboat, and a bike blender for the back of your bike from Rock the Bike! Hot Bike is officially going to have a bike blender on it, and you can have one too!
I have been dreaming of a way to make my taco stand more transportable, hello bicycle! This spring I will create Hot Bike! I will use a Yuba Mundo for the base. With help from Rock the Bike, we will weld storage and a heating source onto a bike and everything will fold out when the bike is stationary. With this bike I will be able to serve hot food anywhere. I will continue to serve food at events and be able to host more food parties anywhere. I have realized there is no better time then right now. Plus it's valentines day, here is a great way to share your love!
When I was a kid I would go into the kitchen and mix things into a big cup. Bullion cubes, mustard, orange juice. Anything. I just wanted to create. I never ate it.
Four years ago I spent the summer dream about hummus, red pepper salad and I rediscovered that pure desire to create and share.
I started a weekly delivery service for folks in San Francisco. I biked hummus, salsa, salad and pesto to all of my customers. It was a blast.
In the past year I have discovered the perfect vehicle for the spreads I love to make. The corn tortilla. I have been selling my tacos at parties and events all of over town. I carry all of my supplies on the back of my bike. It works, but it’s hard.
With a lot of help from my community I will be able to create a bicycle with a kitchen on the back!
Well, that money will go towards projects where food is produced and shared without an exchange. Either in places where folks are hungry and cant afford cooked food or a party for backers. I am also in the process of getting a kitchen and other "legit" things, so extra funds will go towards that giant leap!
I will also build the outdoor kitchen I have always been dreaming of. We will host secret restaurants!
1. Yuba Mundo + electrical assist (that I will only use on the steepest of hills)
2. Equipment: stove, skillets, spatula, a high quality chef knife (finally), blue tape, plastic gloves, things like that.
3. Welding supplies and (hopefully living) wage for the welder
4. The rewards
5. To throw big taco parties for you and to cover costs when I share food for free, as a volunteer, or at low cost to make it more accessible
