Fúchila Fresheners. Que Fresh.
Fü•chee•lä (noun) : phrase used to express disgust usually olfactory.
"Fúchila," exclaimed Orlando, " did you just fart!?"
Órale! So your homegirl told you about Fúchila and you want to know more about us?
Motivation: First and foremost, Fúchila is based on great design and pleasing people. The olfactory sense is the strongest and most adaptive of the 5 senses. The olfactory system is strongly linked to the areas of the brain involved in motivation and long-term, emotional, place memory. Those are the driving factors for this project. Through scent and design, I want to being back those iconic figures we grew up with and with them our fond memories of our childhood.
My Story: One day, I pulled up to a light and I realized that everyone around me had the same feo "little green trees" on their rear-view mirrors. What you hang from your mirror says a lot about you. That day I realized I hadn't found quite the right thing to represent me (besides my rosario). Mi gente (and those who love us) need something better. Something inspiring. Algo bonito. That is why I started Fúchila Fresheners. I designed a line of air fresheners that not only look and smell great, but you can hang with orgullo from your mirror (even long after the smell has faded). No gas station air fresheners ni que nada!
I typically portray the actors, musicians, comedians and historical figures that I grew up idolizing. It isn't a secret that I'm Chicano or Mexican-American, but I designed Fúchila Fresheners for all people.
I'll take care of the packaging, so don't try and put me in a box.

Risks and challenges
While this isn't Aztec astronomy, the production pipeline can be tricky especially considering all the moving parts from the fresheners themselves, to packaging, branding collateral including stickers, buttons, and shirts, and finally the most important part: getting the final product to you, the Fúchila Faithful.
I have been an artist all my life and have worked in print, design, and production for over 8 years and have always found a way to make things work while avoiding comprising the product and the customer experience at all costs. I will work at great lengths to make sure you get what you deserve as a very important contributor to the grass-roots efforts of Fúchila Fresheners.
I will remain in constant communication with my backers and be upfront with any challenges that I come across on this journey. This is a work and progress and while we aren't saving lives, we are making memories, and those matter just as much.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
