In 2011, I released my first full-length titled "The Head & the Heart". Many of you played a role in that, for which I am extremely thankful. It was such a great experience recording and sharing that album with all of you and in the 3 years since that time, I've finished writing a new collection of songs that I am equally, if not more excited to share with you all!
Where The Head & the Heart was an album about identity and the inward tug of war between what we think and what we feel, this new record, Feet that Found a Road is a collection of songs that makes the move to application. These songs deal with topics such as finding real hope as opposed to the vague hope the world so often offers us, patience, and finding pupose when life seems routine and incomplete. I'm excited to share these songs because these were real struggles I've had to fight through myself, and that truth and scripture sheds real light on!
I'm excited to be partnering with Producer/Musician Kyle Cummings on this project, along with Ben Shive and Nate Dugger, who are both top notch professional musicians who have recorded with talented Nashville artists such as Andrew Peterson, Ingrid Michaelson, Derek Webb, Sara Groves, and many, many more!
All the songs are written for this 6+ song record. Once funded, Kyle and I will collaborate over the next few months to arrange, fine tune, and record the songs, culminating in my flying down to his studio to record final vocals and guitars. From there it will be in his hands for mixing and then sent off for final mastering!
If we're able to raise more than our goal, I've got songs ready and waiting to be added to this project too :)
Truth and art are powerful, and I would be honored if you would help me unleash this album on the world and walk the road of sharing it with me.
Risks and challenges
Kyle has locked me in to a great rate, so I'm confident that if we at least hit our goal of $7500, this album will be recorded and released successfully, however there is always the chance that the scheduling studio musicians, and my finding the best time to fly down to Nashville being that I work a full time day job, along with the scheduling of mastering the final files for distribution could affect the target release date. In that unlikely event, I will communicate those timeline changes with you as soon as I am aware of them and explain the reasons for schedule changes. I would anticipate that to cause a maximum of a few months delay, but once again do not expect that to occur.
