About this project
The Book Project: Transformative Art (Multi-Media Message Art)
Hi. My name is Elizabeth Bull and I live in Dana Point, California. I have four children and have been a stay-at-home mom for the past seventeen years. A little over a year ago, I began creating art inspired by a class I took in seminary called "Fresh Start". I had never studied art or created art, but for some reason, when I was completing assignments for the class, I wanted to visualize what I was writing about, so I made art based on the assignments.
It was in class, that another classmate commented on how I was an artist. I laughed until I realized he was serious. At that moment, my art became a catalyst for a major transformation in my life. The art inspired the story for my first novel "Transforming Grace". Without the art, I would never have written a novel, a life long dream of mine. I now realize the vision my art gave me in writing my book.
My art is multi-media collage style that is simple in form and contains spiritual messages. I realize all spiritual journeys are individual, but I have seen firsthand how my art has impacted others by the conversations my art has sparked. I have sold and donated much of my work. Some of my friends have suggested I put together a book of my art, musings and poetry to inspire a larger audience. In order to do that, I need to raise $30,000. Those funds will cover the cost of time, space and production of the art and book. More than three quarters of the funds will go towards production. Production costs consist of digitizing, printing, publishing and marketing. I will need to hire professionals to help me with this process. Kickstarter is an "all or nothing" campaign, so if I do not reach my goal, I will not receive funds for the project and pledges will be refunded. Thanks for your time and consideration.
Risks and challenges
There are always risks and challenges in doing anything in life, but I have done much of the work already. There are a few more pieces of art I would like to create and I will need time, space, and supplies to complete them, but I do not see that as a challenge. The biggest challenge I see is finding the right people to help with the production and printing of my artwork and the book, but I have contacts that can help with that.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
