To help you make that realization, Lucid Dreamer's opening features, the Dreamer and Lightscriber, will play a series of audio and/or visual cues during your sleep cycles.
When you wake up, your dreams can be recorded in our free, secure, PIN-protected Dream Journal. Entries can be written or voice recorded, tagged, and even log technique metrics to help track your progress.
And, with built-in access to our online Dreammunity system, you'll always have access to your dreams; regardless of what device you're on!
We're also well aware that not everyone responds the same way to post-sleep audio or visual cues, which is why we've built 6 other features (and still more to come) to tackle lucidity induction from other angles:
Mass Automated Reality Checking - Stop looking at your hand, counting your toes, or whatever habit you've been trying to form. The Checker can remember to do it for you, when it's convenient for you, and then alert you by sound, vibration, or even notification up to 287 times per day.
On a serious note: Try being reminded of something 150 times per day and see if you don't dream about it.
Sleep Paralysis and Hypnagogic Control - Sleep Paralysis is a transitional state in which your mind is awake, but your body has fallen completely asleep.
Controlling this state of hypnagogia (the hallucinatory-like state right in between being awake and asleep) is one of the easiest ways to slip directly into a state of lucidity.
Polyphasic Sleep and Cycle Adjustments – Although generally hard to get used to, cycle adjustment techniques can help you be far more productive throughout the day, as well as experience more frequent lucid dreams.
Da Vinci can help you plan, and adhere to, the best cycles for you.
Our default range is set to the Uberman Polyphasic Sleep Cycle, but it can be fully customized to match any desired cycles.
Select your own cues - Use your own audio cues, Binaural Beats, or even record your own voice for use with the Dreamer.
Some individuals respond better to different types of audio cues, so we've built this customization right in alongside a full range of Dreamer / Lightscriber settings.
Visual Augmentations and Focus - Everything you see, hear, think about, and experience throughout the day has a direct impact on the contents of your dreams.
The Dreamscapes and Focalizer combo are visual augmentations to Lucid Dreamer that are designed to help you focus and direct those contents via color psychology and focal imagery, respectively.
Focused Rapid Visual Stimulation - Your brains records almost everything you see, even when you're not aware it's doing so.
Since we already know that everything we see affects the contents of our dreams, it's only natural that focused rapid visual stimulation affects them too.
Technique and Journal Statistics - One of the most important features of Lucid Dreamer is logging what types of techniques work for you and which don't.
The better you understand how each type of stimuli affects your dreams, the better you will become at inducing lucidity.
And that's the goal: to have more lucid dreams.
But wait, isn't this already on the Play Store / App Store?...
Lucid Dreamer has been available for Android for about 4 years now, but it is by no means complete! We have tons of additions and improvements planned in the upcoming months.
In the meantime, you can download the current version from the Play Store.
The iOS version is also WAY behind the current Android version and is a huge focus of this Kickstarter campaign. We'd like to bring it up to speed, but we really need your help to do that because Apple stuff is a lot more expensive than Android.
Ok, so what exactly needs to be done?...
- 1. Add support for 7" and 10" Tablets
- 2. Add EEG Headset Compatibility
- 3. Improve existing features
- 4. Add new features
- 1. Incorporate all non-implemented Android features (Reality Checker, Paralyzer, Da Vinci, Focalizer, Subliminator, Dreamscapes, etc.)
- 2. Add support for iPads
- 3. Release Dreamer/Lightscriber/Journal/Dreamunity for free with in-app purchases for advanced techniques (like the Android version)
- 4. Add EEG Headset Compatibility
- 1. A 7" Android Tablet (with latest Android version) for testing
- 2. A 10" Android Tablet (with latest Android version) for testing
- 3. A Mac to continue iOS development
- 4. An iPad for testing
- 5. Several different EEG headsets for testing
Ok, that's awesome. Now who are you?...
Founder, Android and Web Developer
Co-founder, iOS Developer
What else can I do to help?...
The one thing we love is feedback. If you have questions, comments, suggestions, bug reports, or anything at all, we would absolutely love to hear about it!
Your suggestions can help make Lucid Dreamer better for everyone!
Risks and challenges
Since the application is very close to finished for iOS and is basically complete for Android, there isn't much that can prevent this project from being fully released.
At the moment, our only REAL issue is a serious lack of testing devices; a problem that funding from this Kickstarter would immediately solve.
As long as we get devices to actively test the software, we'll be able to confidently release it on all platforms. And, providing we get a little help, we will be able to do that without having to bug everyone and their mother to borrow their iPhone for 30 seconds to test something...
In the event we don't get any help to purchase testing/development devices, we will resume building with our, "please let me borrow that for 30 seconds," approach. And, regardless of whether or not we get fully funded, I personally guarantee that ANYONE who supported us will receive their free, unlocked version of Lucid Dreamer.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
