The Outer Space is expanding into the adjoining warehouse building. After careful consideration we have decided to expand our capacity and add a kitchen (Yes, we will finally have food at The Outer Space!).
The Space is celebrating a ten year anniversary in 2013. We've had quite a journey and have grown from a small group of friends putting on house parties to a nationally recognized community music and arts venue and known as a safe, creative and inspiring haven for people of all ages.
The Outer Space which serves the 21+ crowd has become a local hot spot since it opened in 2011. We are so thankful to all of the bands, their fans, the music scene at large and all the craft beer aficionados that have supported us along the way. We'll always keep The Outer Space a small performance space with a stage and proper sound system. Don't worry, we wouldn't wreck it!
We are simply (or not-so-simply) adding a large event space in what will become "The Spaceland Ballroom". Our renovations will host concerts, art shows, craft fairs, community minded organization meetings and will also have a small kitchen.
Basic Construction (ie: floors, ceiling, walls and heating system) has already begun but we hope to raise the very needed funds to open our doors.
With this kickstarter and your help we hope to raise enough money to build staging, purchase a sound and a lighting system, raise the curtain, install safety equipment and open our doors.
Your donations will help the Connecticut music scene continue to grow, support local musicians/artists, bring jobs to the community and will also bring regional and national acts to the great state of CT. Thank you for your time and continued support over the years.

Risks and challenges
Our amazing team of builders and contractors have been involved with our past building projects and care deeply about the music scene... essentially we are a music venue made by music fans for music fans. The Space & The Outer Space staffers work tirelessly to keep these venues afloat and adding a new venue & keeping it fully booked will become a challenge in the future.
Throughout this project Steve Rodgers (Founder/Director) personally put himself out on a limb financially & physically in an attempt to offer Connecticut a much needed mid-sized music/arts venue (a void in the state). Our biggest challenge as of now is finding funding.
We're hoping to have very little set-backs with this project. After building two venues we have the know-how to get this done the right way. Right now our biggest set-back is a lack of funding. Please help us grow the CT music/arts community and consider donating to The Spaceland Ballroom.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
