Welp, we made it! To everyone who contributed, thank you so much! We're now in overfunding mode, and this is going to allow us to really flesh out the universe. I'm officially quitting my day job to bring this game to you as quickly as possible.
For those of you who have pledged to get an in-dev build, I will be collecting all your email addresses at the close of the funding period and will send you instructions to download the builds.
Beta is on target for March of 2012. My in-dev testers will hopefully have helped me identify all the show-stoppers by then and Beta should be pretty smooth. We'll be testing multiplayer throughout the spring.
I have had a lot of inquiries about Mac ports, and for now that is off of the table. I am looking at Unity 3D for a possible mac port in the future. My code is already in C# but I don't know much about the Unity 3D engine at this point. For now, the primary goal is the windows build, but I do believe that at some point after release I am going to port this whole thing to Unity for Mac users. Plus, unity has some nifty features.
