I was going to call this the "Hey It's September Enough with the Grief Already Update," but I thought that might be too tacky. So I'm doing it here, which is probably just as tacky, but if you can't use humor to see yourself through darkness, you gotta figure you'll be in the dark a long time, right?
What's Going On?
As many of you know, my father passed away at the end of July, following a long illness. As it relates to the Kickstarter, it pretty much shut us down entirely on all fronts for the summer. Now we're at the edge of Autumn, and discovering the new normal, so to speak.
Shipping is resuming this week. We're still a two-person (mostly one-person) operation, and Jen's getting back up to speed while balancing all the other things she must do. We'll be recruiting some more assistance next week, and if all goes well (and let me tell you, the way our luck has run, I'm hesitant to even use that phrase...) we should be putting most, if not all, of the remaining fulfillment items in the post by the end of the month.
That is not a guarantee. If I've learned anything from the Kickstarter experience it's that Kickstarter Campaigns make plans and God laughs.
We'd gone on hiatus at the webcomic in an attempt to focus our efforts on fulfillment. Then life trampled us and the comic suffered.
We have resumed posting as of today. You can find the newest screen here.
So many of you reached out with kind words of support, sympathy, empathy, and condolences over the past six weeks. You have no idea how much it means to myself and my family. Your support, your patience, and your words have genuinely made a very difficult time for all of us here a little bit easier to bear.
So thank you. Sincerely, and from the bottom of my heart, thank you.
