The Last Books Have Shipped Update

Posted by Greg Rucka (Creator)

Yes, you read that right. Our long, (inter)national nightmare is over.

As of today, 13 December 2014, all books have shipped.

Given that it's the holiday season, shipping may be slow. Please allow two to three weeks for your backer rewards to arrive. If you do not have your books by early January, send us a message here and we'll check the tracking numbers etc and get it all sorted out.

This said, there are still a couple of orders outstanding. Some people had books returned to us, some books never made it to their backers. We're working through these last points as quickly as we can.

But, for the most part... yeah, finally, we can say that this campaign has come to its end.

I'll be posting a review/overview/debrief/mulling of the process on my Tumblr and at the Lady Sabre site in the next week or so.

On behalf of all of us -- Eric, Rick, Jennifer, and myself -- thank you so much for your support and your inexhaustible patience. This was a wild ride, and we've learned a lot, and we will not make the same mistakes next time....

This is What 130+ Books Going Out Today Plus Art Looks Like Update

Posted by Greg Rucka (Creator)

Seriously. Some 130 books, plus a lot of the art pieces.

It's far more impressive when it's filled my car to bursting, I assure you.

And no, I don't know who he is, but he was clearly and genially amused by me when I pulled in to unload.

The I Was Going to be Coy Update

Posted by Greg Rucka (Creator)

Jen suggested I take a picture of the boxes of packaged and labeled books filling our front hall and include it in this update but I demurred, as it seems to much to me like saying, see! look! we're really shipping books out! Though I admit I see the appeal of the visual aid, so here's a link to a picture of some ponies.

I'm gonna pay for that, aren't I?

Status update as follows

Another 100 books or so will be shipping out by this Wednesday. This pretty much will account for everything above the Plated level with a few exceptions. We're looking at the remaining Plated and Basics being packaged up in the next two to three weeks, and shipping as promptly as possible as they're ready. Current delay is due to Jen going to visit my mother, and the majority of the hands-on help we're hoping for being in New York for NYCC. If all goes well, we'll have everything shipped out by the end of the month.

But admittedly, all does not seem to go well very often on this project.

I cannot thank you enough for your continued patience and support on this. We're nearing the finish line, and we are as desperate to cross it as you are to see us do so, trust me.

And I swear, we ever do this again, we're using a fulfillment service. When it was just a tiny little idea of a Kickstarter, it seemed not only viable but reasonable to think we'd handle the fulfillment ourselves. When we hit 2000 backers that would mean shipping 6000 books, we probably should've rethought that....

The Rose City Comic Con Update

Posted by Greg Rucka (Creator)

Rose City 'Til I Die

This is very short notice, I realize, but if you're a backer who hasn't received your books and you'll be attending Rose City Comic Con this weekend (September 20-21) and you would like to collect your books in person, please let me know via Kickstarter private message, or alternately using the "contact" option at the Lady Sabre Website as soon as possible.

Again, if you're attending the show this weekend and would like to collect your books from us there, we need to hear from you BEFORE FRIDAY THE 19TH.

I am sincerely sorry to drop this on you guys at such short notice.

For the third and final time -- we need to hear from you before September 19th, Friday morning, or else we will not be able to prepare your books for pick-up.

I'm Not Going to Rose City Comic Con and I'm Patient But This Is Getting Ridiculous, Greg

No argument. We're doing the best we can, I wish I could tell you something other than that. It's slow going right now, but we're hoping to recruit some significant help before the end of the month for the final push on getting everything packaged and mailed. At this point, we've about 1000 orders still to fill, and of those roughly 250 copies still need personalized inscriptions, but hopefully these should move more quickly, as most as either Basic, Plated, or Chained.

We shall, as always, try to keep you posted.
