The Books Have Arrived Update! (part 1)
Just got back from the storage facility that is housing the 13 pallets of books that arrived -- at long last -- this morning.
Thirteen pallets is a lot of books, my friends. It's a lot of books.
There were 303 cartons of the Lady Sabre trade alone. That's the Book in Cloth Covers edition. 303 cartons.
The books, they are beautiful.
To give you a sense of scale, the basic trade was packed in boxes of 10. The Script Book was packed in boxes of 64. The Pocket Guide? Boxes of 122. Rare and Royal got treated like a princess, and only was packed with five other boxes, scented with rose petals.
Shrink-wrapped, no less.
Behold their beauty! Soon, yes, soon, they shall be in your hands! Rick arrives in Portland via Seattle a week from today, and together he and I will begin signing, inscribing, remarquing, and otherwise defacing the books. We're still awaiting the arrival of the patches, the paper dolls, and the bookplates, but everything for each of those items is now finalized and either undergoing printing or about to be printed.
Your patience will soon be rewarded, as will, we hope, your faith.
Thank you again. We think you will be very happy with the books you helped us make.
A second update will follow this one with specifics about Emerald City Comic Con and Bridge City Comics Launch Event pick-up.
