Better Book Barrier Broken (The Alliteration Update)

Posted by Greg Rucka (Creator)

Well, you guys went and did it, and once again proved Rick, Eric, and myself wrong about the commitment and enthusiasm that exists for this campaign. We've reached our 90K Stretch Goal, and you can read about the specifics under its heading on the campaign page, but the really quick version is this.

It's going to be a very, very nice book.

These changes will carry across all editions, by the way, so if you're a Cloth Covers backer or a Rare & Royal backer, these specs apply to both.

Cartographer's Craft

We've also added an explanation of our next goal, at 100K. Essentially, we're talking maps. Nice maps. Professionally done maps. Maps you'd be proud to take home and introduce to your parents.

New Tier Coming and More by Way of Add-Ons

We've hinted - well, stated, actually - that we're going to introduce a new tier for the trade, one that will hopefully fill the gap between the basic Cloth Covers and the Rare & Royal editions. Our initial run of these will be 300 copies, but we will be able to expand that run to meet demand. Rick is working on the mock-up of the cover for that edition now, and once that's finished, we'll be revealing the tier. This will be a higher-end edition of the book, though not as luxe as the Rare & Royal.

We've also been exploring the use of BackerKit, which has come highly recommended as a means of managing add-ons. We hope to integrate this service shortly, and will send a specific update once we've done so. Once the integration is complete, we'll expand the add-ons, and will no longer need to require a base $50 pledge to access them.

Finally...

I'm pleased to attach below the black-and-white preliminary of the Pegasus Crew Patch design. We hope to show you all a color version of this soon!

@Jason - Doesn't it, though? Can't wait to share the colored version!

@Brad - Very kind of you to say, sir. Thank you!

@Brys - BackerKit came highly recommended, and thus far looks to be just what we need to get all the add-ons sorted, and to get more add-ons added... on... uhm... yes!

@Ronnie - We're trying VERY hard to make sure all expenses are completely covered. That's what this money is for, first and foremost. Then we'll see what we've got left, and how we can use that on the comic, and then - maybe! - we'll see what's left for ourselves. :D

Wow! Pegasus patch looks awesome. Great job, Rick!

Your Kickstarter success is the direct result of producing an enchanting webcomic and letting the world gaze upon it before letting it set sail into print! LADY SABRE is boisterous fun in the aether, and there is nowhere that I'd rather be: hold fast!

Love the new map stretch goal!

I'm also all for BackerKit. I've used it several times and it makes things so much easier on everybody in the long run. Just expect lots of questions from those that aren't used to going outside of Kickstarter for this kind of thing.

Don't forget to save a little for yourselves and put back some for unexpected costs (especially international shipping).
