About this project
WHAT'S THIS ALL ABOUT?
Thanks for checking out Kiko! We are raising money to get the Kiko brand out to the world. We believe children's entertainment is starving for positive, encouraging books, toys, and shows that build kids up rather than rot their brains! Our Kickstarter campaign is your opportunity to help us do this. Yes, together we will make a difference. Also, we are giving a large portion of the products to foster kids in Los Angeles county. (you wouldn't believe the horrendous, broken down toys they are given when they enter the system)
By clicking on the green "Back This Project" button to the right on this page you can donate and be part of the movement. You might say, "yea guys, Kiko is cute and great for kids but what's in it for me?" Great question. We are not trying to take your money and run! Consider the donation sorta like a pre-sale on your Kiko product. We can't make the products until we get the $30,000 we need.
$10-$20- Kiko, The Brave Little Bat storybook (a beautifully illustrated, hard-cover 28-page storybook that will help kids get over their fear of the dark by realizing things aren't always as they seem.)
$20-$50- An autographed Kiko The Brave Little Bat storybook, a Kiko branded flashlight, and a Kiko animated intro DVD.
$50-$100- This level of support gets the whole Kiko package. This includes a soft Kiko plush doll, the autographed Kiko hardcover book, the Kiko branded flashlight, and the intro DVD.
$100+ Not only will you get the entire Kiko package mentioned above, but you'll also get your name printed as a "Special Thank You" in the Kiko book.
Kiko is a children’s story about a bat who is afraid of the dark, but with the help of his flashlight he discovers that things aren’t always as they seem.
Like all kids, Kiko is unique. And, like all kids, Kiko faces challenges and fears. Sometimes fears don't make sense. Like, who ever heard of a bat being afraid of the dark? Well, Kiko is, but with the help of his friends and his trusty flashlight, he learns that sometimes the thing we're most afraid of is just our imagination playing tricks on us. Simple lessons like these help children learn they aren't alone in this adventure called life.
Kiko learns many of life's lessons from Old Willie. A sage of sorts, the old willow tree in his back yard has a way of showing him that things aren't always as they seem. Blessed with a mean set of baritone pipes and a love for the spotlight, Old Willie sings Kiko to sleep each night.
At the end of the day Kiko learns with the help of his flashlight that the world really isn't so scary after all. In fact, it's quite fun!
You can check out the considerable progress we have already made in developing Kiko at www.kikothebat.com. You'll get a chance to read the book, view the intro video, and play the Kiko game. Also, be sure to get updates on progress at http://www.facebook.com/kikothebat. Don't forget to like us!
Our goal is to raise $30,000 in order to bring Kiko to life. We will do this by developing a fun toy package for kids, including a 28-page children’s book, a Kiko plush doll, an accompanying Kiko branded flashlight, and Kiko intro DVD.
With your help, we feel this goal is attainable. We are offering a series of rewards at various donation levels. Rewards are listed to the right.
Any money above and beyond this amount will go toward redesigning the www.kikothebat.com website and continuing to build out the online game currently at this url.
Now, if we raise a considerable sum, say in excess of $100,000, we will develop our pilot episode of the animated series. Any donors committing to $25,000 or more will be given an executive producer credit for the pilot episode.
Please keep in mind, Kickstarter funded projects are an "all or nothing" proposition. Kiko only gets funded IF we reach at least $30,000.
We have big plans for this little guy and we want you to play a part in bringing Kiko to life.
Thanks for your support.
