We're a brand new business, bringing a new recipe and all natural product to market first in Massachusetts and then in New York. Our mission is to produce unique and high quality hard cider that gives you the same great taste and feeling that you get when visiting your local cider mill every fall.
We've been perfecting the recipe for years, right at home on the family farm in Western, NY. This year we decided to take a leap of faith and bring the cider to market. We produce the cider ourselves from start to finish. It starts with a unique blend of 5-7 types of New York State apples.
We personally hand check every apple for quality before sending them down to the press at the cider mill. After days and days of personally pressing 70,000 pounds of apples this past fall, our juice is awaiting fermentation.
With your help, we'll be producing both an every day drinking cider and a second product that will be a special brew and the only cider like it on the market.
In an effort to keep the company small and family owned, we're turning to KickStarter to help us raise the remaining money needed to turn our juice into hard cider.
Our goal is to raise $25,000 which will help us finish construction on on barn at our farm, which will become our cidery where we will produce, ferment, bottle and package our cider. This construction is critical to receiving our license.
Being an all natural product is important to us so the addtional funds will pay for pasteurization equipment that will keep our unique blend sulfate free.
Risks and challenges
When you are in the cider business you must be granted state and federal winery licenses. You must also pass an inspection from the Department of Agriculture.
We have a professional crew working on construction and have the upmost confidence that Cunningham Creek Hard Cider will pass the inspections and receive permits from the state and federal government.
Our facility is being constructed so that we can brew and produce cider any time of year. Even if we are denied permits due to inspection, we will be able to make improvements and pass secondary inspections so that we can still bring you our delicious, all natural, hard cider.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
