Next Step and the official wiki

Hey folks,

Good news, we are collaborating with Curse company on FF's official wiki site.

Curse has a professional wiki team that will help us build our community. Here is their website

And for the next step. We are still collecting feedback from various sources and making adjustments accourdingly.  The first thing we did was re-programming the user interface that was...not functioning in the first demo...We are also optimizing the framework to make it more stabble. A more polished gameplay is our next milestone.

For Paypal backers, we are trying to figure out a better way to update, we need to do that  manually for now.  Maybe we could spend some extra budget on an expert to help us solve that.

We  estimate to release the next version of demo in late October and before that we will release more video updates. :D

Good Day.

You are right guys. It is time to build up the community, update the website and facebook...a lot of things to do...we can only do it step by step considering the lack of stuff. We will focus on the game development first.

A video update is comming this weekend:D

dear FF, you have a forum, you have a homepage(ish) and you have most importantly a great community that has an interest in seeing you make the best game there is with many having at least a little time to help do minor things but as ukshadow said, silence kills the fastest, start a dev blog/weekly update on the forum and keep everyone informed about your progress, even if there is no progress... talk about what you are doing, what issues you are working with, might be we have someone who faced a similar issue and who has a fix or helping advice for it...

Actually, TheChosenOne has a point. You have a community: Use it.

Lots of people here are versed in different fields, if you need expertise, ask. Use your forums and RSS feeds. Nothing kills something faster than silence.

"Maybe we could spend some extra budget on an expert to help us solve that."

I hope that is pure sarcasm... spending even one cent on that is redicoulous ofcourse. They can just check this KS from time to time. Possibly RSS feed on your site.

I support Noel B's sentiment. And I'm a game designer for example.

      Noel, good thought.

And since the main gameplay will take place in top down view, we need to tweak the terrain a little. To make it flatter and more compact.

I should be a bit more clear... I am a gamer but I have another life beyond that and sadly, I don't have the time to visit other sites and be part of a beta even thou I might have backed a higher tier. Sometimes we do this because we believe in the project we are backing. You might be surprised who backs your project and in that, what they can offer. In my case I am a coder, can't say I can offer you all your answers but if you get stumped or not sure where to find .,.. say something to make life easier or another source location for materials just ask around ;) I personally am happy with your progress, be it you will take longer then planned, but your listening to your community and that's a step in the right direction.

If you have technical hurdles, you should ask for help, remember we are not gamers we have lives, careers and more. Some of us are coders, designers you name it. You never know what you can find out about just asking around. Not saying you will get answers all the time, but I know many people who do kickstarter and are in the industry themselves.

Joshua - Yes, the top down view is still there and managing the squad and tactical combat is almost the same as before. We will start makeing videos from top down view from now on.

    11. Joshua Johnson

seems to be coming along nicely, one big question though. you have the combat gameplay video on there from last year showing the top down combat, is that still in the game? most of the recent videos have been showing the 3rd person over the shoulder point of view. can you switch back and forth between the two?

I really hope the top down view is still in as it's important for tactical awareness and squad management

Oh And. We just took a 4 day's break to think about what FF is really about...

Ah, that looks much better. Keep at it guys.

If you have doubts, ask us. We can point you at examples or even solutions to problems you might have.

Awesome, nice concise update, but pleased to see you're cracking on and making progress!
